<Ayelis>
Just dropped in to ask if anyone was interested in working on issue 1021 (Categories). I don't have any sort of dev environment set up, so I can't handle it myself, but maybe there's a way I could help out?

Hi Ayelis! Sorry no one was about earlier to discuss your situation
<politas>
Ayelis, one thing you could do to get the ball rolling is submit a PR with changes to the Spec and Schema to support the new functionality. Once the Spec and Schema changes are defined, Netkan and our testing can be updated to handle the categories, and then we can add them to the UI. You won't need a build environment to do the spec and schema changes; it can all be done with GitHub.

hi @politas

<linuxgurugamer>
You merged the ETT change I was waiting to merge :D
<politas>
Yep :D
<linuxgurugamer>
was wondering why github was taking so long to finish the check
<politas>
That KPBS/MKS Integration Pack - I fear I will need to deep-dive before I even understand what it needs.
<linuxgurugamer>
I kind of figured, and given what it does, I would say to not make it a high priority
<linuxgurugamer>
it's the first one I feel may not be a good thing for CKAN, given that it's literally playing games with other mods
<politas>
Righto. I've got a To-Do tab open in my Chromium

politas: SVE needs everything from scatterer because it gets modified, so SVE doesnt provide any scatterer config
<Olympic1>
so the provides needs to be changed to SVE-Scatterer-Config and SVE-Sunflare

Olympic1, thanks for checking that out. I've taken out the Scatterer config provides
<politas>
There isn't anything left that depends on SVE-Scatterer-Config and SVE-Sunflare. Those were the way we got the SVE downloads to provide the necessary configs.
<Olympic1>
np, merging
<Olympic1>
FUCK
<Olympic1>
I accidentally deleted the meta repo
<Olympic1>
politas:
<Olympic1>
ehm
<Olympic1>
Do I create a new one and push my fork
<Ayelis>
D: You accidentally the whole meta repo!
<Olympic1>
yes, was really accident
<Olympic1>
I thought I was on my 2nd fork
<Ayelis>
You may need to email support@github.com... They're pretty quick on these sort of things.
<Olympic1>
techman83: politas: Daz: ??
<Daz>
oops
<Daz>
I don't have anything close to an up-to-date fork
<Daz>
but I assume not all is lost
<Olympic1>
Do I create a new one and push my fork? I was 7 commits behind
<Ayelis>
Stack Exchange says github support can do a quick undelete, takes like 10 minutes.
<Daz>
Olympic1 I assume there is something like a support-hotline for times like these :)
<Daz>
remember to put up an issue where you massively understate the issue at hand
ferram4 has joined #ckan
<Olympic1>
ok, emailing
<Daz>
like the issue report could be "So something bad just happened" and the body should end with something like "But it's not _that_ bad" :p
<Daz>
tbh would be worse if it was the .netkan repo. even if we have someone with a fork a few commits behind the bot will solve it aslong as the .netkan repo is there
<Olympic1>
send.
<Olympic1>
still, it is bad
<Daz>
yes
<Daz>
I'm sure there are people on the forums already confused about why their newly downloaded modlist is empty
<Daz>
will that fubar their registries when the mods aren't available to look up against?
<Daz>
let's hope github can undelete though, losing a lot of issues otherways. Not that I think many of those issues are still being linked to

zengei: "The situation is less than ideal"
<Ayelis>
Implementing categories after the fact seems tricky. You can't require they be added as it seems that would invalidate mods that don't have them, which equates to all mods. You can only add them optionally and hope they catch on?
<Daz>
Ayelis do it like everything else and add x_category <.<
<Daz>
Ayelis or add it as a new part of the resources? It'd have to be manually added though since I don't know if we can scrape that?
<Olympic1>
also, we'll need to think about the KSP dlc: Making History
<Daz>
ugh how to I look at a mod through the api for spacedock?
<Daz>
been forever

[CKAN] Dazpoet commented on issue #2027: Don't we have someone *cough* @pjf *cough* who loves discussing licenses and how they work and not work? https://git.io/v9va7
<Olympic1>
the meta is back, but its now a fork from pjf/CKAN-meta, will that be a problem
* Daz
has no idea
<Daz>
what happens when pjf decides to remove the original repo? Or do forks just stay?
* Daz
don't know git
<Daz>
Olympic1 when I run into github issues like this one I usually try to contact pjf tbh, he's the most gitomancy-capable human (atleast I think he's human) I know :)
