[CKAN] gajbooks commented on issue #1991: I must have been referring to the Nexus Mod Manager rather than Mod Organizer. As interesting as it is to have a virtual file system which doesn't really exist, that feels very fragile for KSP updates and user-written plugins. Despite the obvious speed and space advantage for switching mod sets, that seems a lot more difficult than simply managing file structure.... https://git.io/vQPfA

wut, AxisSystem is packing a .netkan file inside the zip
<Daz>
a sub-optimal one without dependencies but still :o

[#5679] title: Recommendation of DynamicBattery Storage | cleaned up and added DynamicBatteryStorage as a recommended mod, because i did some changes to support it | https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/NetKAN/issues/5679
<techman83>
So, umm. Not sure, I'd run the file through netkan manually with the verbose flag or something
<Daz>
techman83 o/ I saw a new nertea mod and ergo had to install KSP. I'm just waiting for zengei to ok my latest change to the netkan so it can be added to CKAN. So I thought I might aswell check a few PRs while waiting :p
<techman83>
:P
<techman83>
I gotta find some time to go clear my Backlog of netkan fixes and features
<Daz>
hm -v tells me something is wrong, I guess it's time for -d!
<Daz>
aha! malformed .version file or something related to it
<Daz>
and who the hell thought it would be a good idea to change my computer (which only I use and change things on) to use powershell instead of cmd -.-
<techman83>
what is this powershell you speak of :P
<Daz>
linux-crazies
<Daz>
you that is
<techman83>
:D
<Daz>
I acctually have this fancy bash for windows thing installed
<Daz>
maybe I should start using it
<techman83>
Heh
<Daz>
but then I'd go insane seeing as linux terminals vary every so slightly, and annoyingly, from the mac-terminal
<techman83>
Linux is all I do now. Gave up my SysAdmin job and now full time software dev
<Daz>
so you went from slowly going insane to slightly faster going insane? <.<

pretty much

I'm acctually almost working IT aswell now :o I'm the non-volountary IT-person at work and I hate it
<techman83>
but I don't have to deal with windows any more, so it's not a bad trade off
<Daz>
never should have shown I have the competence to both turn off AND on a computer
<techman83>
hahaha
<techman83>
though I'm having to do some frontend dev at the moment. Currently crying into typescript
<Daz>
all the windows hate :/ I like my personalinformationgathering overlord
<techman83>
I like my computer to work :P
<Daz>
this install has been going for... err... 6-7 years by now
<Daz>
since I installed Win7 and now it runs Win10 just as smoothly
<techman83>
we might have differing definitions of working :P
<Daz>
<.<
<Daz>
>.>
<techman83>
hahaha
<techman83>
I also like doing updates while using my computer
<Daz>
but then again if we talk about hating OSes, my workplace is slowly switching to chromeOS "#&(/")#/&)"#/&"
<Daz>
apperantly noone needs to use fancy windowsprograms like... excel
<Daz>
because Google Sheets is "just as good, if not better"
<techman83>
to be fair, excel is the work of the devil
<Daz>
won't argue on that one
<Daz>
but I, and many others, have spent years taming that devil
<techman83>
that is why :P
<techman83>
business process gets locked up in excel, then falls over cause it really belongs in a business system
<Daz>
and sheets do have cool things like SPLIT and QUERY, to bad it sucks ram like a thirsty student sucking beer
* techman83
shudders
<Daz>
:p
<Daz>
my work has a IT-boss (not me) who does what he thinks is best from an ideological standpoint and ignores things like what programs are acctually used and what requirements they have
<Daz>
when we go to him asking how we're supposed to solve the fact we can't use program X on ChromeOS the answer is always "There's a better open source alternative, you just haven't looked enough"
<Daz>
and god forbid we dev into the machines and install linux
<Daz>
so obviously that's what I did <.<
<Daz>
this is exactly what my spouse said would happen when I said I should try ksp again. She said I probably wouldn't even start the game and what'd you know. Here I am two days after I said I'd try ksp again, reading the documentaion for KSP-AVC <.<
<techman83>
lol
<Daz>
I've also installed some 45 mods and just waiting for NF-LaunchVechicles before I can start the game xD
<techman83>
brilliant
<techman83>
I've been addicted to Zelda BotW if I'm honest :P
<techman83>
that and futzing about with Arduino when I have a few minutes here and there
<Daz>
Bought Cities Skylines at the steamsale, tried it out and got stuck in the immense amount of mods available after just one trialgame <.<
<Daz>
oooh BotW, I have that aswell. Haven't cleared it yet though because MK8D came out before I could finish it and currently me and the spouse are also stuck in Heroes of the Storm
<Daz>
so many games, so little time -.-
<Daz>
but yes, BotW is *amazing*

Hi, I have a quick question - is there any way to force install of a specific version of a mod? I'm looking to install version 0.7.1 of CommunityResourcePack on a KSP 1.2 install, as that is apparently a dependency for the backported (to 1.2) KSPInterstellarExtended version
<Michionlion>
as an addendum, executing ckan.exe upgrade CommunityResourcePack=v0.7.1.0 results in CommunityResourcePack not being found, despite it being installed.
<Michionlion>
the same happens when directly requesting an install of v0.7.1.0, but not when the version is left off and the default (0.6.6.0) is selected

Michionlion our metadata states that 0.7.1.0 is only available for ksp versions 1.2.9 (lol?) through 1.3.9
Lyneira_ has quit [Quit: Konversation terminated!]
<Daz>
Michionlion and looking further I see that the .netkans for that mod is handled by the modauthor themselves (roverdude) and his .netkan file points towards the .version file packed with the mod stating that it isn't compatible with ksp versions <1.2.9 so there's not really a lot we can do about it
