<Micha>
Greetings. Any netkan experts around?
<HebaruSan>
That would be a bold claim, but I'm ready to learn more
<Micha>
Just wondering if the NetKAN filename has to match the identifier.
<HebaruSan>
I can't find a reference proving it, but in practice I think the answer is yes. Scanning the current NetKAN repo, all the packages I've looked at follow that convention.
<HebaruSan>
The spec does somewhat address it, but for .ckan files: "CKAN files should have a naming scheme of their mod's identifier, followed by a dash, followed by the version number, followed by the extension .ckan. For example: RealSolarSystem-7.3.ckan."
<Micha>
The reason being I maintain Nehemiah's mod collection, and it'd be nice if they all had the same filename prefix for easy identification. Not a big deal really.
<HebaruSan>
OK, one shell script later, and I can confirm that every single entry in the NetKAN database has a filename matching the identifier. So yeah, it's probably required.
<Micha>
Ahwell, I've made a pull-request for the other changes for now anyway.
<Micha>
Thanks for having a look, Hebaru-san.
