Huh, Arena and Daggerfall are now free on Steam
<SnoopJ>
were they charging money for them at some point vs. the free copies from The Corporation Wot Owns Them?
<SnoopJ>
or did they stop doing that for a while to sell it for money
<raptop>
I *think* it's more they weren't on Steam at all.
<raptop>
They've both been free in general for some time, though I know that the official Bethesda website source for them went away for a while (permanantly?)
<SnoopJ>
I remember that it came up in the GDQ that did them back-to-back (and I think all the other games as a continuous anthology block?)
<raptop>
I also want to say that on GoG, they're free with purchase of another TES game
<SnoopJ>
Which is what made me aware that Daggerfall is Pretty Neat in terms of its game design
<raptop>
There was a continuous one (that skipped Redgaurd and Battlespire, but who even played those?)
<SnoopJ>
Clint Basinger, at least >_>
<raptop>
Daggerfall has all sorts of cool ideas, though the consensus is that you get an experience of what the game should have been with the Unity port
* SnoopJ
will one way complete an Elder Scroll
<SnoopJ>
or maybe just play one for more than an idle hour or two
* raptop
got bored with Arena like halfway through the main quest, and might finish it some day(tm)
<raptop>
Daggerfall has way too much "go done a rabbit hole for a while with some weird thing with quests/gear/profinces/whatever, and forget about the plot"
