Micha: sorry, was away for a bit
<Micha>
No worries
<Olympic1>
we just need to discuss where we should get NE_Science_Common and MultiPurposeParts from
<Micha>
Ok, so if I understand correctly, you'll use one of the downloads as a "source" for the "meta-package"
<Micha>
Even though all of the downloads already include what's required. Effectively performing more downloads than necessary.
<Olympic1>
you don't need to make more zips, CKAN downloads one zip to be used for multiple modules
<Micha>
Sure, but the point of multiple ZIPs is to reduce the download cost for people only interested in part of the collection.
<Micha>
Otherwise just download the "all-in-one" and use that as the basis for the rest.
<Micha>
The all-in-one will -always- be up-to-date even if only one of the sub-mods is updated.
<Olympic1>
ok, I can do that
<Micha>
Whereas if you pull the plugin from KEES, what if a patch is made for Kemini? CKAN would still pull the plugin from KEES, leaving a broken Kemini install.
<Micha>
It means CKAN users will always have the largest download, but overall it'll be more efficient for them. And if anybody is really that desperately short of bandwidth, they'll do manual installs anyway I'm guessing rather than using CKAN
<Micha>
We're only talking 14MiB after all..

do you want version 0.7a0-mw7 to be added or wait for a full 1.3 release
<Micha>
-mw7 is for KSP1.2.2
<Micha>
-mw8 is for KSP1.3 and is my intial alpha (beta really), fixing some older issues
<Olympic1>
ah ok, but may -mw7 be added for 1.2.2 or do you want us to wait for the 1.3 release
<Micha>
-mw7 has some outstanding bugs; would probably have to do a 1.2 bugfix release for CKAN
<Micha>
Can add both, not sure how long before I get the next release out
<Micha>
And more users == more bug reports :)
<Olympic1>
take your time
<Micha>
Currently doing localisation and GUI rework
<Micha>
Once the mod is in CKAN, what's the workflow for a new release (as in, is it something you guys do, or something the mod maintainer can do)?
<Olympic1>
pre-releases are not added to CKAN, a full release is added when our bot detects it. You are working with version files, as long as you update those, the ksp version is used from that file
<Olympic1>
so automatic
<Olympic1>
if the mod requires a new dependency, you will need to edit the netkans
<Micha>
Ok. Given that nobody has screamed bloody murder yet, I could actually upgrade the 1.3 pre-release to a release.
<Micha>
I'll be away for a week so there won't be another update "soon".
<Olympic1>
you decide, we just add the mods
<Olympic1>
I made the PR on your github to fix some forgotten commas in the version files and added the pr to add the mods to ckan.
<Micha>
Thanks! :)
