<WeylandsWings> raptop: i remembered how much i hate swapping out cameras and refocussing and reailgning cameras tonight
<raptop> haha, beamsplitter go brrr
<raptop> Anyway, no observing tonight here, but there are thunderstorms
<WeylandsWings> raptop: refocusing was okay in the end just massively time consuming , but realigning the mount/main camera/widefield was such a pain we called it off so we could bring other stuff next time the weather is good
<raptop> ow
<raptop> theoretically we have robofocus, but that often causes problems, so there's a manually listed set point and then a bit of hand adjusting
<WeylandsWings> we also had an issue where we had put the wrong extender on the scope (2" instead of the 3") which made focusing more annoying, and we do it by hand
<WeylandsWings> plus this scope only has one focusing wheel so good luck getting it precise
<WeylandsWings> we didnt even get to creating the mount model tonight
<raptop> whelp
<raptop> How big is this scope, anyway?
<WeylandsWings> hard to start on the mount model when the scope and WFOV camera arent aligned
<raptop> (since it sounds a lot more mobile than the 0.8 m I'm usually using. Or that 3 m once in a blue moon)
<WeylandsWings> its on the smaller side
<raptop> aaaaa
<WeylandsWings> i dont rememeber off the top of my head maybe 7 or 8 inch?
<raptop> ah
<raptop> all the fun of messing with electronics alongside the fun of aligning finderscopes
<WeylandsWings> mount model is all software... tell the scope to point at a star, be stunned at how far off it is, try to center as good as possible, repeat for like 20 stars with errors decreasing

<egg|anbo|egg> INFORMATION ON UTC - TAI
<egg|anbo|egg> NO leap second will be introduced at the end of December 2020.
<egg|anbo|egg> The difference between Coordinated Universal Time UTC and the
<egg|anbo|egg> International Atomic Time TAI is :
<egg|anbo|egg> from 2017 January 1, 0h UTC, until further notice : UTC-TAI = -37 s
<egg|anbo|egg> Leap seconds can be introduced in UTC at the end of the months of December

<raptop> Oh, good, this puts an upper limit to the length of 2020
