was really hoping for a "Vega" that was a blackbody at a specific temperature instead of a table

Let's see if I understand flux conversions correctly: 2.5*log(Jy)-8.9 == ABmag
<raptop>
To get Jy from an Fν, you need to pay close attention to units (1 Jy = 1e-23 erg/s/cm²/Hz = 1e-26 W/m²/Hz), which is why you see eg: 48.6 in the literature. (Also slight variations on that number depending on zeropoint assumptions and trying to match up with Vega)
<raptop>
For the Δν part, you need to plug in the FWHM of your wavelength band with each end converted to frequency (which results in hilariously large bandwidths in optical, and depending on how you wrote the conversions reinventing fluxions)
<raptop>
ABmags are close to Vega mags in BVR, but vary wildly outside of that. Conversions *should* be easy, but the definition of Vega has varied over time, and remains inconsistent (~9,000 to ~10,000 K blackbody, Kurucz atmospheric models, direct measurment of A0V stars, etc)

<egg|laptop|egg>
raptop: have you considered replacing Vega by an actual blackbody
<raptop>
I have, the literature varies considerably
<egg|laptop|egg>
raptop: no I mean
<egg|laptop|egg>
actually changing the star
<egg|laptop|egg>
that way the literature would have to standardize on it,
