<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ I'd run "memtest86" or "memtest86+" if I were you.
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ Yes, I did that, though not very long. No errors. I also have two KSP installs on different machines and the problem happened on both.
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ +for
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ Also, memory errors would lead to other crashes I believe, and BSOD's, but I have none.
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ ⟪sichelgaita⟫ I'd run `memtest86` or `memtest86+` if […] ⮪ To be honest, given that #3332 has a subnormal, we may well have an actual memory corruption bug, instead of this being to blame on von Kerman’s collection of radiation sources.
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ I'm looking at my glog folder and see the following:
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ 1. logs start from 19.11.2021
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ 2. fatal errors start from 12.02.2021 - there are none before
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ 3. all fatal errors are of the same type (issue #3331)
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ 4. current version of Principia was installed since 04.02.2022 - so there was a period without crashes using the current version
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ 2. fatal errors start from 12.02.2022 - there are none before
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ 5. CKAN logs show one addition on 12.02.2022 that might or might not be significant - Kopernicus upgrade from 2:release-1.12.1-70 to 2:release-1.12.1-81
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ 6. there were other mod upgrades, but they are probably (hopefully) unrelated to an issue like this
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ ⟪von Kerman⟫ 5. CKAN logs show one addition on […] ⮪ You don’t use AddWatchdog.cfg, do you?
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ No, I don't
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ OK
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ Are you able to reproduce the corruption? If you can, a journal would be useful.
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ I tried, but couldn't
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ Also, maybe run that memtest86 a bit more than "not for very long", you never know.
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ Will ytu
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ * try

<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ Yet another update on my crashes. I've resorted to hack gravity to root out the issue in my game. It seems to be helping, and what is more, hacking gravity on the Venus orbiter had a MASSIVE impact on save file size. It dropped from ~50Mb to ~15Mb after removing history on this vessel alone. Unfortunately, I don't remember if the vessel was launched before or after the trajectory history changes, but it might be worth looking...
<queqiao-> ... at...
<queqiao-> ⟨n9gaming⟩ Save file was 100k kb, switched to an old vessel and it immediately dropped to 79k kb! Sweet!
<queqiao-> ⟨n9gaming⟩ Hack Gravity save brought it down another 4k kb
<queqiao-> ⟨n9gaming⟩ All in all, save file from 124k yesterday to 41k today - principia spring cleaning!
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ > k kOne generally writes that M.
<raptop> Hey, for all we know, n9gaming might predate the adoption of M
<raptop> They *could* be 150 years old

<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ ⟪von Kerman⟫ Yet another update on my crashes. I've […] ⮪ We are trying to investigate, but this will be tricky. Please leave memtest running overnight, so we don’t waste time if that is the explanation (if your save got smaller and you just don’t hit the sad memory in the serialization process, that might be what is helping here).
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ Also, please stop hacking gravity, your saves should not get too big anymore. If they do, you should complain. We’ve spent two years working on the issue of overly big saves, it’s not to have people resorting to shitty old hacks.
<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ (Tempted to kill the hack gravity hack.)
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ Memtest started running right now, will see the result tomorrow
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ Big save was mainly caused by one vessel, the Venus orbiter. Im afraid it would have made the tame unplayable without the hack, even without the crashes.
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ * game
<queqiao-> ⟨von Kerman⟩ (though of course I could have deleted the entire vessel...)
<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ ⟪von Kerman⟫ Big save was mainly caused by one […] ⮪ It should not be getting worse these days. If it does, please open an issue. Hiding the problem under a stone and running away is not helping anyone.
