<queqiao-> ⟨necoarcstan⟩ is it safe to uninstall in a game where theres no satellites up yet?
<queqiao-> ⟨pound_of_cheese⟩ How do you check your periapse with princip?
<queqiao-> ⟨pound_of_cheese⟩ Just installed so a little confused

<queqiao-> ⟨obothehobo⟩ have you guys messed with higher than 100,000x warp? how unstable is it?
<queqiao-> ⟨obothehobo⟩ I've heard with principia it can cause things to get jank
<queqiao-> ⟨Damien⟩ Yes
<queqiao-> ⟨Damien⟩ The Pe indicator. It helps if you are in a reference frame centred on the body you're orbiting/flybying
<queqiao-> ⟨Damien⟩ Unstable, no. Laggy, can be yeah
<queqiao-> ⟨obothehobo⟩ Lag is fine, I just worry it would mess up the physics and cause satellites to deorbit
<queqiao-> ⟨obothehobo⟩ I mean they can deorbit anyway but I mean when they're not supposed to lol

<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ That is not how things work. Principia does the same calculations no matter what the timewarp rate is, so the timewarp rate has no effect on physics; if you warp faster, it just needs to do more calculations in the same (real) time, which is why you can get lag if you have too many vessels, you warp too fast, and your computer is too slow.
<queqiao-> ⟨qazerowl⟩ Does this mean adding bodies to an existing save will work, so long as you don't mind the planets possibly jumping to a different location once they get recalculated?

<queqiao-> ⟨obothehobo⟩ Oh ok I didn't know that
<queqiao-> ⟨obothehobo⟩ I just read that it can get janky above 100,000x and the faw and got worried

<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ You cannot add bodies to an existing save.
<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ +You can add Principia to an existing save, but once you have a Principia save, your bodies won't change.
<raptop> Principia will not recognize the bodies in the water

<queqiao-> ⟨dannyb3001⟩ Hi, I'm interested in using principia with the stock system (and OPM) with the near and far future tech mods installed. I know that OPM is probably incompatible by default (the orbits will collapse) but are there any other incompatibilities, and is there a patch to make OPM work with principia?
<queqiao-> ⟨dannyb3001⟩ additionally, does the mod work in 1.12.9?

<queqiao-> ⟨Kirk (He/Him)⟩ I'm going to hazard a guess and say no, Principia does not work with KSP versions that don't exist
<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ And that applies to KSP 2.
<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ Seriously now: "KSP versions 1.8.1, 1.9.1, 1.10.1, 1.11.x, and 1.12.2 to 1.12.5 are supported."
<raptop> 1.12.9 is just something that mods list as a compatability hack
<queqiao-> ⟨dannyb3001⟩ I guess that's what I get for using ckan as my method of determining game version
<queqiao-> ⟨qazerowl⟩ What if principia gets removed and then re-added?
<raptop> I feel like that has a real chance of invoking the wrath of egg
<queqiao-> ⟨sichelgaita⟩ Yeah, that's not a scenario that I am particularly interested in supporting, so whatever happens happens.
