<GregroxMun>
http://imgur.com/a/OZjgR something else I got up to while mostly away from the Kopernicus chat
<GregroxMun>
Based upon NovaSilisko's very first idea for what the KSP solar system should look like.
<GregroxMun>
Egar, (Duna) in the foreground and Meander (Jool) in the background.
<Sigma88>
very cool
<GregroxMun>
Meander was actually going to be a fairly small planet at 27,000,000 meter radius.
<GregroxMun>
There would also have been twin binary ice giants, Mandrake and Rutherford (naturally they were discovered by siamese twin astronomers of those names)
<GregroxMun>
I used Sigma Binary for it but SB's SOI mechanics are really lacking when it comes to binaries of similar mass.
<GregroxMun>
The whole system is almost certainly not N-body stable, but I haven't tried with Principia.
<Sigma88>
yeah it's not really made to do that
<GregroxMun>
Would it work alright if I manually shrunk Rutherford's SOI?
<GregroxMun>
As long as the barycenter is covered it's fine, right?
<Sigma88>
R is the secondary?
<GregroxMun>
yes
<Sigma88>
SOI should automatically be limited
<Sigma88>
it should not go further than halfway between the two planets
<GregroxMun>
Well SB broke
<GregroxMun>
let me load it up and get some screenshots
<GregroxMun>
(I imagine you'll want Module Manager cache too?)
<Sigma88>
yes
<Sigma88>
MM cache and the value of SOI you get for the secondary
<Sigma88>
worst case scenario you can manually limit the SOI to stop halfway between the two planets
<Sigma88>
gtg
<Sigma88>
cya tomorrow
<GregroxMun>
o/
<Sigma88>
put everything in the dropbox folder
<Sigma88>
so I remember
<GregroxMun>
ok
<Sigma88>
:)
Sigma88 is now known as SigmaAway
<GregroxMun>
!tell Sigma* I had stressful troubles with having deleted the entire mod in question and then managing to find an old version of the configs and a new version of the textures and at any rate I probably won't have the information about the SB bug soon.
<Qboid>
GregroxMun: I'll redirect this as soon as they are around.
<Qboid>
SigmaAway: GregroxMun left a message for you in #Kopernicus [27.04.2017 00:51:37]: "I had stressful troubles with having deleted the entire mod in question and then managing to find an old version of the configs and a new version of the textures and at any rate I probably won't have the information about the SB bug soon."

!tell Gregrox* ?

TwistedMinds has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<Thomas>
Sigma88: No, windows 10 doesnt suck at all
<Thomas>
windows 10 is awesome
<Thomas>
(no I am not being sarcastic)
<Sigma88>
yes?
<Sigma88>
I don't like it very much honestly
<Thomas>
free updates for ever, and it looks good
<Thomas>
And, it runs on computers who arent capable of running win 7
<Sigma88>
yeah well, I would like to have control of when the pc is restarted
<Thomas>
Oh you have that
<Sigma88>
how?
<Thomas>
It installs the updates when you restart the pc
<Thomas>
I never seen a popup "restart now"
<Sigma88>
it forces the restart if you leave the pc switched on long enough
<Sigma88>
I've lost data for that
<Thomas>
With win 10?
<Sigma88>
yup
<Thomas>
Never had that
<Thomas>
and at school I have a win 10 pc running for almost 1/2 year now
<TwistedMinds>
Yup, there is no "restart now" popup because it's automatically scheduled without confirmation (during "off" hours, aka between 21h and 5h) if you leave the computer idle for 30min
<Sigma88>
^
<Thomas>
yes, but you can disable that :D
<Sigma88>
where?
<Sigma88>
I tried multiple times
<TwistedMinds>
pretty sure they removed the option to disable it a long time ago
<TwistedMinds>
as for automatic update, you can "game" it by using the metered connections thingy
<TwistedMinds>
tethered*
<Thomas>
you can disable it through group policy
<Sigma88>
not if you have a pc with ethernet cable
<Sigma88>
group policy?
<TwistedMinds>
Sigma88, with the new update (got it today) you can enable it even over ethernet
<Sigma88>
ah cool
<Sigma88>
I usually disable the restart task on the task scheduler
<Thomas>
Sigma88: Basically a list of settings where you can allow or disallow functions for users / groups / computers.
<teabot>
Setteangs.
<Sigma88>
but every time I install updates it gets messed up and I have to re-apply the change
<teabot>
Teame.
<Thomas>
Sigma88: It is more useful if you have a windows server domain, yes, but it exists on every windows
<TwistedMinds>
Sigma88, "group policty" -> Administrative Components -> Windows Components -> Windows Update -> Configure Automatic Updates (enable that option)
<Thomas>
Sigma88: Or you block the windows update servers in your router :P
<TwistedMinds>
but I'm 99% certain it doesn't do anything anymore, i remember hearing they disabled it a couple months ago
<TwistedMinds>
Wait it's not just enabling it. Set it to "2 - Notify for download and auto install"
<Sigma88>
I don't have Administrative Components
<Sigma88>
nor Windows Components
<TwistedMinds>
err... Local Computer Policy, administrative templates, windows components, windows update
<Thomas>
Sigma88: Did you do Windows + R and entered gpedit.msc?
<TwistedMinds>
sorry, wrote it from memory the first time
<Sigma88>
thomas wut?
<Thomas>
Thats how you start the group policy editor
<Sigma88>
"cannot find gpedit.msc"
<Thomas>
pro or home?
<Sigma88>
home
<Thomas>
home doesnt have the editor afaik
<Olympic1>
nope
<Olympic1>
hi btw
<Thomas>
hi
<TwistedMinds>
"Let's make a Windows version we'll keep updating forever, so everyone is on the same page" "but let's make 12 different version of it".
<Sigma88>
even more stupid
<Sigma88>
let's make it a tablet lookalike
<Sigma88>
so people with mice cannot use right click but have to hold left button
<Thomas>
? .D
<Sigma88>
that makes me want to smash the screen everytime
<Thomas>
*:D
<Sigma88>
there is a lot of crap for tablet
<Sigma88>
for example
<Thomas>
Yes, but that only enables when your machine is detected as a tablet
<Olympic1>
TwistedMinds: only 5 - home, pro, education, enterprise and recently creators
<Sigma88>
no
<Thomas>
creators is just an update
<Thomas>
like the anniversary update
<Sigma88>
I get a lot of crap for tablet on my desktop
