<Bornholio_> use wider shields with less ablator, need a shadow to hide the parts in. also osunds like your chutes have messed up normal maps, and the size is larger than the appearant size

<darsie> Bornholio_: This got complicated. So I use a 2 m shield for the chute that won't stay small. But I don't want to take it down and up to the Moon, so I leave it in high cislunar orbit. Land on Moon, take off, rendezvous with the shield, release a tiny pod and capture it with a carcobay attached to the shield, land on Earth. In theory.

<darsie> Getting the SMA of the shield and the Moon lander aligned is gonna be tricky, too. Gotta adjust the Moon orbit after ascent so I depart at the right time after one month..
<Bornholio> yeah that should be way oversized, might need to balance it vs a 1.5m shield, your Cd is approaching 1.3 :P
<darsie> There is no lunar rated 1.5 m.
<darsie> Hmm, I could try the radial chute, maybe that doesn't inflate.

<darsie> But I had the issue with the conic and the disc chute, so not much hope.

<darsie> Hmm, ckan doesn't seem to have picoports for 1.3.1. I added 1.6.1 but that got rejected cause it tried to overwrite a file from another mod.

<darsie> I have a hunch these damned chutes not only grow secretly, they also get heavier. The craft mass in teh VAB is 133 kg and in orbit the controls are disable because it is 164 kg.
