<skydavidblevins> BREAK: DUP has NOT yet reached any agreement with the Tories. Sky sources: Downing Street issued the wrong statement in error.

is half expecting 418 errors at this point.

"The RFC specifies this code should be returned by teapots requested to brew coffee." ... I think as of the past few years this now actually needs to be seriously implemented
<Iskierka>
although, teapots requested to brew coffee?
<UmbralRaptor>
Compatability is probably doable for some brewing methods.
<Iskierka>
also DUP does not negotiate on sundays, so on sundays a left alliance has a majority

Christ, people in the hotel room above, is 0420 really the time to rearrange the furniture?

Dear tourist hotel, your Engrish flyer encouraging us to come to the Victory with a word soup full of Capitals Disease and "traditional British" perhaps should not describe hamburgers as traditionally British, I'm pretty sure some of your guests know where Hamburg is

<LonelyMnts> Due the #ParisAgreement withdrawal we will change our game. Sadly playtime is rather short now. #ClimateChange… https://t.co/R0YLbAqseh

The piece of pipe going between the rear axle of a bicycle and the junction of the seatpost and top tube. Conventionally, alas, a bicycle has two
<Iskierka>
sounds like it's time to be unconventional
<Iskierka>
(what happened?)
<Pinkbeast>
Rust and time - the bicycle is over 25 years old

egg: Does CH do them at a minimum every 2 years, with effectively 2 rounds, for potentially a dozen or more offices?

you do know about swiss direct democracy, right?

(as best I'm aware, states here stick all their referendums on normal election days)

UmbralRaptor: mind you, those are only the federal referenda

There is, however, a sort of anti-Song of Ice and Fire process at work where whenever someone has outlived their usefulness to the plot they are immediately killed off, which keeps the book moving
<Iskierka>
as opposed to remaining far too long when they're not useful and being killed off when they are?
<Pinkbeast>
Mmm. None of these endless "what is Steve Lannister doing? He is eating cereal and murdering prostitutes" chapters. What is Mr Meeson doing? Being dead
<Pinkbeast>
Bill and Johnnie? Dead. Lord Holmhurst? Dead. Captain thingy? Dead. Mr Towney? Well, you get the idea.

"In short, they were anxious to establish a legal dong firm of the most approved pattern" I wonder if this is an OCR typo or if the word has shifted meaning

<ManyATrueNerd> Just in case you're wondering what Brexit means - it includes less safe drugs and bulldozing wildlife sanctuaries. https://t.co/YEPvTGcUOe

Pinkbeast: I'd say anything but FPTP, but SNTV is somehow worse.
* Iskierka
is unclear how exactly FPTP is differentiated from SNTV
<UmbralRaptor>
SNTV is I suppose a more general case of FPTP.
<Pinkbeast>
The joke's not going to work if no-one votes no, maybe I should create three sockpuppets
<Iskierka>
after a bit of parsing I see how SNTV is worse. Basically FPTP has area or position or other divisions such that people can only apply for one; SNTV there's just one list of applicants and positions are filled by going down the list
<Pinkbeast>
Particularly SNTV has this characteristic that with n positions up for grabs it can be suboptimal to run n candidates
<Iskierka>
unless you just happen to control who can apply and have n friends
