UmbralRaptop changed the topic of #principia to: READ THE FAQ: http://goo.gl/gMZF9H; The current version is 🐇. We currently target 1.5.1, 1.6.1, and 1.7.x. <scott_manley> anyone that doubts the wisdom of retrograde bop needs to get the hell out | https://xkcd.com/323/ | <egg> calculating the influence of lamont on Pluto is a bit silly…

<discord-> Transparent_Elemental. — man this thing is an fps-eating monster, can i turn off the history somehow?
<discord-> Damien. — @Transparent_Elemental Yeah you can reduce the history length
<discord-> Damien. — Bear in mind that once reduced you can't get that history back
<discord-> Transparent_Elemental. — this satellite is long dead so i don't mind
<discord-> Transparent_Elemental. — how though
<discord-> Damien. — It's on the main principia window somewhere
<egg> so pretty though :-p

<discord-> Damien. — @egg could it be possible to set the history per craft?

<discord-> LordEidar. — Hello - Do you guys know of any ways to minimise lag during high time warp when I have crafts in orbit with Principia installed?
<discord-> LordEidar. — Miss the smooth time wrap of the SR area 😉
<discord-> lpg. — if you're talking about lag in map mode: shorten predictions, shorten history, hide UI via F2
<discord-> LordEidar. — not only in the map just general space center screen when I'm warping to finish a rocket it gets very choppy if I have anything in orbit
<discord-> lpg. — shortening history might still help with that; but it isn't something I've noticed
<discord-> LordEidar. — ill try that
<discord-> LordEidar. — thx

<discord-> RurouniDonut. — Question
<discord-> RurouniDonut. — Is there anyway to figure out what orientation my probe has to be in on the way to the moon so that when it gets there its facing retrograde?
<discord-> RurouniDonut. — Im trying to do an unguided orbitor while the TLI stage impacts the moon
<discord-> RurouniDonut. — So I cant use rcs to fix orientation when it gets there
<discord-> DRVeyl. — You mean by predicting the (un) expected rotation principia will do to it / the universe?
<discord-> RurouniDonut. — Yeah
<egg> wait for us to deal with rotation, or bring RCS along for the ride
<egg> you can't have correct persistent rotation anyway, so rotation will always be bad
<egg> until we deal with it that is
<discord-> RurouniDonut. — Aww
<discord-> RurouniDonut. — Time to bring a very small avionics package
<discord-> lpg. — I dealt the problem by putting my retro thruster at an angle
<discord-> lpg. — and let the stabilizing spin (hopefully) point it in the right direction
<discord-> lpg. — I dealt with the problem by putting my retro thruster at an angle (edited)
<discord-> lpg. — (much simming was involved)
<discord-> Sumguy. — Or you can wait until you have the proper avionics for the task
<discord-> DRVeyl. — Doing persistent rotation correctly is pretty far down your roadmap. It's a fair question of can you predict what angle by which you will rotate the universe, in terms of your coordinate system. And if so, there is no reason he should not be allowed to prepare for that.
