Sir Mortimer. — @RurouniDonut 1.8.1 is better with garbage collection in unity, it's less jittery/laggy - depending on the mods you're running. It won't be able to do much for principia performance.

egg. — most of the physical calculations in Principia are in a common module which is fully independent of KSP, and doesn't even know which version of KSP is being used
