raptop changed the topic of #principia to: READ THE FAQ: http://goo.gl/gMZF9H; The current version is Fréchet. We currently target 1.5.1, 1.6.1, and 1.7.x. <scott_manley> anyone that doubts the wisdom of retrograde bop needs to get the hell out | https://xkcd.com/323/ | <egg> calculating the influence of lamont on Pluto is a bit silly… | <egg> also 4e16 m * 2^-52 is uncomfortably large

rsparkyc. — @Kitten Dispenser I'm using principia in a mid game save right now, and it does seem to get a bit slower the more you play. One thing that's suggested is to disable asteroids. As for interplanetary, I let mechjeb plot my transfer, and then tweak afterwords, and it seems to work well (at least for going to eve)

LordEidar. — Any tips to planning moon missions - launching at the right time with KER isnt accurate because of the 18 year cycle of the moon's orbit i think?
<discord->
LordEidar. — I often end up in LEO and the moon relative inclination is too high to compensate with my TLI burn
<discord->
lpg. — my preferred approach is polar(ish) parking orbit, lined up to point ~45 degrees ahead of the moon's position. I've yet to find a good method for in-plane launches
<discord->
LordEidar. — Ill try that might have to tweak my first and 2nd stage as cut it pretty close on dV not sure I can make polar
<discord->
LordEidar. — thanks

Butcher. — I do polar launches.
<discord->
Butcher. — If the moon is at 18 degrees relative inclination you're a bit stuck for getting in plane.
<discord->
lpg. — loose wording. by in-plane I really meant: for burning-straight-east launches
<discord->
Butcher. — Also this play I'm using Vandenburg so definitely not going to be able to get close with an easterly launch.
