egg changed the topic of #principia to: Logs: https://esper.irclog.whitequark.org/principia | <scott_manley> anyone that doubts the wisdom of retrograde bop needs to get the hell out | https://xkcd.com/323/ | <egg> calculating the influence of lamont on Pluto is a bit silly…

⟨byte⟩ I believe so. Suddenly things start to look exactly more as they should an at the same time more confusing than they should 😉
<queqiao->
⟨byte⟩ I can help testing 🙂

⟨byte⟩ How to do bi impulsive Hohmann transfer in principia? kind of pick proper timing and burn so it is kind of cheapest (as MJ does ? )
<queqiao->
⟨byte⟩ how to figure out timing and vector as MJ does ? is it possible at all with pure intuition or simple math that can be done in memory ?
<queqiao->
⟨byte⟩ are there any indicators of interception like in stock teal arrows that shows where you are at closest approach ?
<queqiao->
⟨lamont⟩ absolutely isn't possible with simple math
<queqiao->
⟨byte⟩ i just entered data from mj into principia node and it comes out pretty well. but i would have no idea how to guess htat moment for burn.
<queqiao->
⟨byte⟩ i'm trying to intercept vessel but i can;t understand what it is suposed to show.that i never meet target ?
<queqiao->
⟨egg⟩ You are in an orbit with pretty much exactly the same period as your target, but you are 38 km from your target; so at the end of the day you’re never getting closer, just hovering 38 km away.
<queqiao->
⟨egg⟩ You need to change your orbit so that the trajectory turns into a sort of crushed spring that gets closer, and then match periods again.
