past ~third order? not really, you need your function to have more and more nicely-behaved derivatives, your expressions get nastier, and basically computationally one fourth-order Householder iteration is not faster than two Newton iterations (for any function I've tried, at least) while being a much more complex expression.

I mean it might be worth a try for certain functions, but I've never found them to be useful.
