<queqiao-> ⟨xmsr⟩ I have heard of hack gravity in the alt-f12 menu, but I don't see it anywhere? Not sure what I'm missing.
<queqiao-> ⟨Kirk (He/Him)⟩ It's under "cheats"
<paculino> alt-F12 -> cheats then hit the checkbox beside hack gravity
<queqiao-> ⟨xmsr⟩ of course, hit the actual menu, thank you both

<queqiao-> ⟨Stonesmile⟩ ⟪expanders are superior⟫ does smartass hold nodes in principia […] ⮪ A bit late, but no, it doesn't. The revamped "execute principia manouever" in the latest release of MJ does however do that. Another alternative is to manually switch to "kill rot" before it expires
<queqiao-> ⟨expanders are superior⟩ I updated to 1.12 specifically for the mj feature yesterday. Thanks!
<queqiao-> ⟨rlndd⟩ i have a question about principia.
<queqiao-> i want to change starting date. i done "RSSDateTime" part. after that, i visit https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/horizons/app.html#/ and take planets/moons vector values according to my in-game date (i use solar system barycenter as coordinate center). i edit the initial state file, start the game. when i open the map ctd happens. is principia do additional checks/use another coordinate center or is there a another way to generate initial state?
<queqiao-> ⟨Al2Me6⟩ You need a new save for the new initial state to take effect. There is also https://discord.com/channels/319857228905447436/480397772248580098/757742531239870504
<queqiao-> ⟨rlndd⟩ ⟪Al2Me6⟫ You need a new save for the new initial […] ⮪ i use new save. btw, thanks for the files. i change the "sol_init" file instead of patching it. maybe principia do checksums and ctd happens or "1945-01-01" is bad date. i'm gonna try to patch method.
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ You shouldn’t need to build a new initial state file anymore ; you can just change the game_epoch and let Principia compute things until that epoch.
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ (unless you want to start before 1950, I suppose.)
<queqiao-> ⟨Al2Me6⟩ I suspect there continues to be a use-case for custom initial state for career purposes.
<queqiao-> ⟨Al2Me6⟩ * ~I suspect there continues to be a use-case for custom initial state for career purposes.~
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ no.
<queqiao-> ⟨Al2Me6⟩ +Ignore me, I cannot read.
<queqiao-> ⟨rlndd⟩ i have additional question. why game_epoch and solar_system_epoch separated year apart? is there a mechanical reason for this?
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ solar_system_epoch tells you about the data you put in. game_epoch tells you when you want the game to start. You should not change solar_system_epoch, unless you want to go through the trouble of defining a new initial state from scratch.
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ (which, again, is not necessary; the JPL dance is no longer a thing which you need to do unless you want to add additional bodies.)
<queqiao-> ⟨rlndd⟩ ⟪egg⟫ solar_system_epoch tells you about the […] ⮪ thank you for the explanation.
<queqiao-> ⟨Stonesmile⟩ Side note for why the initial state is 1950 and the game starts in 1951; long ago it started in 1950, but having that be "year 1" before dateTimeFormatter was apparently annoying so it was changed to 1951 to be easier to convert mentally
<queqiao-> ⟨rlndd⟩ Stonesmile thank you.
