<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ Question: I used this to delete some of my old vessels: https://github.com/my-th-os/KML/releases (KSP was actually hanging when I tried to delete some of them in-game). The problem is the history for those vessels is still serialized in the save file. Is there any way that principia can go through the save file and prune anything for vessels that are no longer around?
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ interesting, after deleting everything, my save file was down to 8 megs, so maybe it does that already?
<queqiao-> ⟨siimav⟩ Yeah, you can clear history by deleting vessels or by visiting vessels while having the Hack gravity option enabled in cheat menu

<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ didn't know if deleting them with a 3rd party application would also remove it. The tool I was using didn't show any serialized history data on the vessel node, but did show a bunch of serialized data within the principia scenario
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ ⟪rsparkyc⟫ Question: I used this to delete some of […] ⮪ How old were those vessels exactly?
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ 1000-2000 days
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ no, I mean in real time.
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ New vessels shouldn't make your save much bigger as they grow old.
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ See https://github.com/mockingbirdnest/Principia/wiki/Change-Log#%E0%A4%B9%E0%A4%B0%E0%A5%80%E0%A4%B6-%E0%A4%9A%E0%A4%82%E0%A4%A6%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B0
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ _maybe_ they were before that release?
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ ⟪rsparkyc⟫ didn't know if deleting them with a 3rd […] ⮪ but yeah, to answer your original question, the moment we don't see a vessel, we assume it blew up and forget all of its history.
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ Do tell us if you have saves that grow large from now on though.
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ will do
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ They should not, and if they do, perhaps we can do something about it.
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ what would be a "large" save file?
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ in MB
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ The change log gives a ballpark of 2 MiB per vessel for the recent past, so if it is much above that, we would want to see the save.
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ sounds good
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ ahh, looking at my glog folder, my first log file was from jan 3
<queqiao-> ⟨egg⟩ right, so through the month of January at least your save would have grown unchecked. After you upgraded past हरीश चंद्र things should have slowed down.
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ yep, just looking at the new moon chart 🙂
<queqiao-> ⟨lamont⟩ someone got a little punchy halfway through their thesis
<queqiao-> ⟨rsparkyc⟩ lol
* raptop is disapointed that it's not an acronym
<queqiao-> ⟨Transparent_Elemental⟩ it needs a bound estimate on iteration count
