⟨stone⟩ Does anyone know how to solve the problem where the maneuver delta v bar to the left of the navball doesn't change as you burn?
<queqiao->
⟨stone⟩ When I perform my burn, the indicator does not change at all
<queqiao->
⟨stone⟩ I'm still able to get to my destinations, just that it makes performing accurate burns more difficult.
<queqiao->
⟨Al2Me6⟩ That is intended behavior; either watch the timer in the Principia window or eyeball the trajectory.
<queqiao->
⟨lamont⟩ le faq
<queqiao->
⟨stone⟩ aight thanks bro
<queqiao->
⟨lpg⟩ or just push the not-quite-new-but-now-improved "execute principia maneuver" MJ button (there's been a release with the improvements I think?)
<queqiao->
⟨Builderbast 🇺🇦⟩ im trying to get principia to use the engine that currently active, but it is assuming a burntime of around 4 minutes, even though the entire stage only burns for 80 seconds
<queqiao->
⟨Transparent_Elemental⟩ is it a solid rocket motor?
<queqiao->
⟨lpg⟩ not if it's "currently active" it isn't
<queqiao->
⟨Builderbast 🇺🇦⟩ its an rd58, and I clicked use active engines
<queqiao->
⟨Quadrupole⟩ You need to activate the engine you want to use.
<queqiao->
⟨Quadrupole⟩ I.e., seeing the green bar next to staging queue
<queqiao->
⟨Builderbast 🇺🇦⟩ ⟪Quadrupole⟫ I.e., seeing the green bar next to […] ⮪ indeed
<queqiao->
⟨Transparent_Elemental⟩ ⟪lpg⟫ not if it's "currently active" it isn't ⮪ well it depends on what exactly is meant by currently active
<queqiao->
But I do have a hopefully quick question. I'm in the Kerbol system, and partway through my game after about two or three Kerbin days, I got a notice saying Laythe impacted something and an apocalypse occurred. How do I fix this?
<raptop>
That suggests something questionable with respect to the install. The default Kerbol system (especially around Jool) has serious instabilities, so Principia *should* be substituting in a fixed one (notable features include retrobop)
<queqiao->
⟨JustLyra⟩ Yeah, I had read about that
<queqiao->
⟨JustLyra⟩ Maybe Kopernicus is interfering somehow?
<raptop>
That sounds very likely
<raptop>
Using systems beyond Principia Certified Kerbol(tm) or RSS/RO is not recommended without first checking long term stabbity in your favorite n-body simulator
<raptop>
(this is where I shill for MERCURY6, even though it's incredibly annoying in terms of moons)
<queqiao->
⟨JustLyra⟩ I'm in the stock system, but Kopernicus might've taken over and reverted the changes to Jool?
<raptop>
quite possibly
<queqiao->
⟨JustLyra⟩ For some reason a lot of things depend on it that don't actually do anything to edit the system lol
