egg changed the topic of #principia to: Logs: https://esper.irclog.whitequark.org/principia | <scott_manley> anyone that doubts the wisdom of retrograde bop needs to get the hell out | https://xkcd.com/323/ | <egg> calculating the influence of lamont on Pluto is a bit silly…

<natjam> How do I get something to be stable at Earth-Moon L4 or 5? it seems like the points keep changing position. I'm using the EML reference frame and the contours keep moving, I'm thinking because of the Sun and Jupiter? idk.

<Flouid> ok after a long process getting the hang of it, I'm starting to like principia maneuvers more than vanilla mechjeb for the most part. I do miss instantly create ap/pe change nodes/circularization stuff, but it handles transfers much better. If I time things right all I have to do is drag out a prograde vector to roughly the correct dv then click optimize and it makes a perfect trajectory. And correcting is as simple as turning
<queqiao-->
the engine off, rcs on and clicking optimize again. For people like me who were unsure, just jump in it's great
<queqiao-->
<ezsnack> You know you can move the manouver node if you click on it? :p
<queqiao-->
<ezsnack> And optimize is overrated

<Qazerowl> The only downside (IMO) is unstable orbits. I've considered deleting the non-spherical gravity info to see if that makes orbits more stable. (I know is unrealistic but I want to avoid stationkeeping tedium)
