<queqiao--> <Mmeridian> chiming in just to save you the time, principia and reborn are compatible if you have a correct reborn install. mine works fine and others have one as well. if the install is correct it won't auto crash the game. so fix your reborn files instead of mucking around in principia (and also probably just try and avoid talking about reborn in this channel (server?) anyway, less headaches that way)

<queqiao--> <sichelgaita> 🇺🇸 gets the first download.
<queqiao--> <Clayel> does google tell you where people who download the zip get it from?
<queqiao--> <egg> We get our analytics from bit.ly.
<queqiao--> <Clayel> oh, didnt even notice it was a bit.ly link
<queqiao--> <Clayel> i will say that sending it through bit.ly without a notice is a little sketchy, it might be good to put a notice on the readme of what the purpose of the bit.ly link is for? (instead of just google drive)
<queqiao--> <egg> It’s a link, it points wherever it points. It’s not like we are saying that it’s a link to Google Drive. If you care about the domain on every link you click, look at it, it’s none of my business.

<queqiao--> <Clayel> there are hardly any other ksp mods that require you to go through a bit.ly link for the binary, so i think explaining its usage is reasonable
<queqiao--> <egg> You are looking for a solution for a lack of a problem, and I have more productive things to do, like cooking.

<queqiao--> <Clayel> do you want me to make a pr to the readme then? considering that bit.ly allows you to see the country and city that a user is from (i think you need to pay extra for the city), i would assume that people wary of suspicious links could see this as one
<queqiao--> <Clayel> a simple disclaimer can fix that
<queqiao--> <egg> > do you want me to make a pr to the readme then?
<queqiao--> <egg> No, I want you to drop this.
<queqiao--> <egg> And I generally want you to stop trying to divine what other people want and how to solve such hypothetical issues. This is not the first time you do that, see, e.g., https://discord.com/channels/319857228905447436/480397772248580098/1310315566896119849, and it is largely useless.
<queqiao--> <egg> As for people who would not trust us, see the last sentence of the README:> Or, if you don't trust our binary, build the mod from the خیام release.

<queqiao--> <sichelgaita> I am going to ask the question that I ask each time this kind of concern comes up: what is your threat model?
<queqiao--> <sichelgaita> Disclosure: I worked in security. I won't leak information related to my job, but I will repeat something I read recently on Bluesky: your threat model is either non-Mossad or it is Mossad.
<queqiao--> <sichelgaita> If your threat model is non-Mossad, you are really well-protected by moderm operating systems. If you think that I would waste a 0-day that would be worth at least $1M on the market to take over your computer with Principia, and mine Bitcoin, think again.
<queqiao--> <sichelgaita> If your threat model is Mossad, you are dead (insert your favourite agency in place of Mossad).
<queqiao--> <egg> @Butcher how are the cats? And how many cats are there in your Hilbert hotel at the moment?
