<VITAS[m]> got the feedback regarding modding in ksp2: they cant and/or wont say how they want to implement it yet.
AllisTauri[m] has joined #spacedock
<AllisTauri[m]> Huh! after all this "modding is one of The most important features", and "mods will be supported on unprecedented level, all of the internals will be available through the API" and stuff =]
<VITAS[m]> he said the same
<VITAS[m]> something along the lines of "as seamless as possible"
DasSkelett[m] has joined #spacedock
<DasSkelett[m]> "We _really_ want to support mods, just no idea how."
<VITAS[m]> but no word about the mechanism or if they go with propietory solutions like steam workshop
<VITAS[m]> hte community and PR manager of private divison shows me every time that im in no way anywhere on his priority list
<VITAS[m]> like promising me thing or even to get back to me and he never does without poking him violently
<VITAS[m]> he didnt even remember that were both german
<VITAS[m]> and wrote to me in english
<AllisTauri[m]> Why would you matter to a PR mongrel of a publisher? As if he ever played KSP)))
<VITAS[m]> we had a long phonecall 6 month ago
<VITAS[m]> and he pruposed planes that sounded quite different from what hes displaying now
<AllisTauri[m]> It's the problem with publishers: they dissociate creators and audience in the most inhumane way
<AllisTauri[m]> games, books whatever
<VITAS[m]> i thought i could be one of the spokespersons for the community
<AllisTauri[m]> You could, but publishers never ever bother with the community, except for when it's good for PR
<VITAS[m]> bridging the gap between buyers/modders and the business end
<VITAS[m]> because i was/am part of both worlds
<AllisTauri[m]> And even then only very clever ones do
<VITAS[m]> having worked for EA, Havok, Micorosft and others in the gaming industry
<AllisTauri[m]> ✌️
<VITAS[m]> i understand that its a deal and every thing they do they do for money
<VITAS[m]> but at least i still have a phone number and mail adress that is read and answered
<AllisTauri[m]> It's ok when people do what they do for money; it becomes bad when they do it for moaaar money!!!
<VITAS[m]> even if im not getting the honest answers id wish for
<VITAS[m]> companies only exist to make more money thaen last year
<AllisTauri[m]> yea, economy of growth is a bitch
<VITAS[m]> it must be made convinient to them to deliver a good product
<AllisTauri[m]> *and the dead end for that matter
<AllisTauri[m]> But by "more money" I meant simple, stupid avarice.
<VITAS[m]> i could be the same with SD but i decided its my hobby with benefits
<VITAS[m]> so im not that desperate to make it even get any income
<VITAS[m]> all i wish for it is to continue and pay for itself
<VITAS[m]> aka its servers
<VITAS[m]> with ksp2 im unclear if it will because the lure of steam workshop is a big one and i not only want SD exist but also hate the idea of a monopolist liek valve (or others) to take over this small nice of plesent company this community is.
