Taking a look I would be very very surprised if the db space was an issue, at least compared to the 300gb of mods. I didn't actually know about SQL indexes, and I can't imagine they would be anything other than an int for each column? which would besl sweet naff all

Awesome, yeah, the index implementations that I'm familiar with basically just store the value and a pointer to the record in another place

Also I have no experience with alembic, I had assume it loaded the objects and could update the db itself, because I don't ever remember the generate revision thing

in terms of license and so on: it is brought to our attention so we have to see if the license permits it or if theres proof of the the former author allowing it

If the original author has given permission for that guy to take it over, I recommend we add that user ad an additional author. As an admin we can log into other users and add it

Yeah if the original mod author isn't reachable anymore, they should just create new listings for any continuations.

Yeah JadeOfMaar wanted me to use my admin powers to add him to the collaborators. He hasn't been able to contact the original author.

On the original OPT author, I've been working a bit with Jade behind the scenes on OPT stuff for over a year now... Both Jade and I have tried repeatedly to contact the author, by several means... I know *I* have never received a reply. 😦

I think it's pretty standard practice to fork the mod in this case

For what it's worth, this is the second time he's asked about this. The previous time he wanted to go in and edit previous releases of the mod uploaded by the original author, and I didn't need to consult the team to know the answer to that was "No".

I cant put words in Jade's mouth, but I think it may have been just to maintain continuity, stat history, and didnt require him having to do up a whole new listing, if it wasnt necessary... vOv
