Partway through the mission you misspeak and try to correct it, totally lose track of what you were saying, and gibber incoherently for the next two minutes. Fortunately, help arrives on mighty toaster wings.

Mission control has no idea what you're doing. From now on all computer science and IT jobs will be referred to as "beep boop." As in "oh man I am running late for beep boop." Or "Bill has been beep booping professionally for 15 years."

if that helps mission control...

"industrially processed sugar" is basically poison to some people
<FLHerne>
it's better than arsenic
<FLHerne>
!stupid arsenic instead
<LunchBot>
In 1858, 20 people died in Bradford after eating sweets that accidentally contained arsenic instead of plaster of Paris instead of sugar.

<Eddi|zuHause>
that sentence is difficult to parse
<Eddi|zuHause>
under the (weak) assumption that the sentence is grammatically correct, there seems to be some sugar-replacement called "plaster of paris", and they intended to use that, but mixed it up with arsenic?
<darsie>
That's what I concluded.
<sandbox>
I'm trying to remember what we made with plaster of paris

<FLHerne>
Eddi|zuHause: yes, it's a quick-setting gypsum-based plaster
<FLHerne>
not a particularly good substitute for sugar, but in the 1850s it was a lot cheaper and there wasn't much enforcement
<FLHerne>
but they accidentally adulterated their sweets with arsenic instead of plaster, which did attract attention
