⟨sichelgaita⟩ We should not add more bureaucracy to the process of reporting bugs: the last thing I want is for users to give up on reporting bugs because we are asking them a ton of questions. I'd rather have a GitHub issue which doesn't have enough information than a chit-chat on Discord where someone says "it doesn't work" and goes away. In practice, I guess that 80% of the issues that are created on GitHub are of sufficiently good...
<queqiao->
... quality that we can look at them and start a conversation. Of course there is the 20% where people don't even try to give us logs, don't tell us what version or what OS they use, etc. And more often than not, when we ask for details they don't reply. But an issue template would not help with those.
<queqiao->
Maybe we could have a template directing users to the "reporting bugs" section, though.
<queqiao->
⟨clayel⟩ i feel like the template would help to fix the 20%, and it wouldnt be much of an inconvenience to the other 80% who were already doing that stuff
<queqiao->
if they dont give the info, you're gonna have to ask them questions anyway, and thatll take even longer to do and inconvenience them more
