⟨von Kerman⟩ it's not ok, flyby without impact 😦 i […] ⮪ Success! The improved script deviated from the Moon by just 652km! It's immune to variance, spool-up, loss of communications if the burn is directly prograde, and fits in 500 bytes which is the avionics storage limits 🙂

⟨Kerbinator(no guarantee suggest)⟩ ⟪von Kerman⟫ Success! The improved script deviated […] ⮪ with early tech?
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ Not really early tech. It's not direct ascent. I have 1958 rocketry (RD-0105) and deep space avionics so I can wait in parking orbit.
<bees>
careful, next step would be starting your own space program... irl
<bees>
this is what happens after you start to write scripts to complete missions
<queqiao->
⟨Stonesmile⟩ ⟪von Kerman⟫ Success! The improved script deviated […] ⮪ How do you account for variance? (I assume you use the effective spool up time to account for spool up?)
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ Counting dV that is actually expended
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ dve - total dV expended, dvm - planned dV for the maneuver
<queqiao->
⟨Stonesmile⟩ So you update the acceleration each time step?
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ yes, each physics tick
<queqiao->
⟨Stonesmile⟩ That'll do it 😆
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ no need to calculate spool up 🙂
<queqiao->
⟨Kerbinator(no guarantee suggest)⟩ Hmm, however why I didn't see PRmanoeurve in this script
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ what is PRmaneuvre
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ * PRmaneuvre?
<queqiao->
⟨Kerbinator(no guarantee suggest)⟩ the manoeurve node of Principia
<queqiao->
⟨Kerbinator(no guarantee suggest)⟩ So you need to activite it manually via key binding?
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ i don't have any integration with principia or anything, and it's not the whole script anyway
<queqiao->
⟨Stonesmile⟩ ⟪von Kerman⟫ no need to calculate spool up 🙂 ⮪ RF has a field for it (recent update), it should make a small difference for precise manoeuvres
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ well, i'm trying to fit this in 500 bytes. 500.
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ so no integration, no fancy things at all
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ script is activated in kOS console some time before the burn, then it waits until the maneuver time which is also specified in the parameters

⟨scimas⟩ egg, you are still including the barycentric navball asset in the releases. Not an issue, just fyi. Also, what is the the navball_compass used for? Looks like it's just a rotated navball_surface.

<queqiao->
⟨ganlhi⟩ Hello! Is there a video somewhere showing the proper way to do a rendez vous with Principia? I read the wiki, managed to configure the navball in the correct mode so my map shows the "loops", but I'm not sure about how to use them to determine the closest approach and how many sync orbits will be needed.
<queqiao->
⟨Damien⟩ ⟪ganlhi⟫ Hello! Is there a video somewhere […] ⮪ Each loop is an orbit around the planet/moon. If you get an intercept with your target and it's on a loop 6 loops away, you'll intercept in 6 orbits
<queqiao->
⟨Mudkip909 | 𒀱 supporter⟩ cuneiform go brr
* raptop
is pretty certain that pressing a reed stylus into a clay tablet does not make a "brr" sound
<queqiao->
⟨Mudkip909 | 𒀱 supporter⟩ does it make more of a "ssshlrrp" sound
<queqiao->
⟨egg⟩ it really doesn’t make much of a sound; but, since it sounds like you are unfamiliar with the script, allow me to ask again in transliteration, _am-mīnim rēṣum ša dalḫamun šumka_?

<queqiao->
⟨egg⟩ ⟪scimas⟫ Looks like I forgot to tag you egg ⮪ ah yes, good point; I might as well drop the purple navball. re navball_compass… I don’t know ? This might be a holdover from a time when we would sometimes let KSP orient the navball itself.
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ Cool. I started playing KSP again yesterday after many many months and am using the test build you posted a few days ago. Was just wondering why it was half the size of the regular releases and stumbled across those images while exploring.
<queqiao->
⟨Al2Me6⟩ (windows only)
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ (I know the images are tiny, the difference comes from not having linux and macos binaries)
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ Oh got ninja'd by Al2Me6 for a moment 😄
<queqiao->
⟨egg⟩ ⟪scimas⟫ Cool. I started playing KSP again […] ⮪ do tell us about the behaviour of the test build when it comes to save file size (the issue it is supposed to address), as well as obviously any crashes or other bugs you might encounter. We want this to be thoroughly tested, since it goes into some rather deep systems of Principia
<queqiao->
⟨Mudkip909 | 𒀱 supporter⟩ imma see how deep we talkin
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ ⟪egg⟫ do tell us about the behaviour of the […] ⮪ Sure, it's a pretty new save right now, so nothing to report at the moment. But I'm playing sandbox, so should have multiple ships staying in orbit soon-ish.
<queqiao->
⟨pEdro⟩ during normal gameplay i have not found any bugs in the tes build, so thats something, filesize i have not checked yet, but im going to run some testing of different orbits next week
