⟨scimas⟩ ⟪egg⟫ Al2Me6, scimas have you noticed […] ⮪ I might have noticed this problem yesterday (with the new 3282 build). Playing RSS, entering atmosphere with 10x timewarp, it took a solid 5-6 sec to stop the warp and go back to normal frame rate. For those 5-6 sec it was like a slideshow.
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ The issue is that I have not played in so long that I don't know whether this has anything to do with Principia..
<queqiao->
⟨Quadrupole⟩ At least I did not notice any lag at all without Principia
<queqiao->
⟨Kerbinator(no guarantee suggest)⟩ apparently he forgot to update principia logs 🌚
<queqiao->
⟨egg⟩ ⟪scimas⟫ The issue is that I have not played in […] ⮪ interesting. can you try making a journal spanning that event?
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ ⟪scimas⟫ I might have noticed this problem […] ⮪ This behavior is sometimes associated with vram issues.
<queqiao->
⟨Al2Me6⟩ ⟪Alex6511⟫ This behavior is sometimes associated […] ⮪ But that should be related to the scaled space transition, not timewarp?
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ He entered the atmosphere at high timewarp, so it had to load the HD ground textures.
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ If vram was full, it may have taken 5-6 seconds to make enough space for them
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ During this time you'll experience _very_ bad FPS
<queqiao->
⟨Al2Me6⟩ Ah, I see what you're saying.
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ It's definitely not definitive, but really choppy FPS is a very common symptom of your vram being full
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ Especially if it resolves "on its own" after a few seconds
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ ⟪egg⟫ interesting. can you try making a […] ⮪ I can give that a go, but might take a couple of days.
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ ⟪Alex6511⟫ If vram was full, it may have taken 5-6 […] ⮪ I haven't checked, but is the 8 GB of 3060 TI not enough? I only use the 4096 x 2048 RSS textures and Distant Object Enhancement, no other visual mods. Will check this too when I'm creating the journal. But I wouldn't call 10x a "high" warp rate. It's just one step above the 1x (excluding the physics warp of course).
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ I have a 2080 ti with 11 gb and sometimes I run out
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ KSP is not very good at memory management
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ Your card is fine, if you ran out it's probably just KSP fault
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ True. Anyway, we'll have some more info in a couple days.
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ If it happens again after it happens go check how much vram you have in task man
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ Yeah, that's what I'm going to check.
<queqiao->
⟨Alex6511⟩ Keep in mind task man is very poor at measuring vram usage, but it will at least give us abetter idea of if its even possible.
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ Yeah, if I was on ubuntu, I could have just kept track of the VRAM from nvidia-smi. But KSP in general has never worked very well for me on linux.
<queqiao->
⟨scimas⟩ Huh, look at that, there is an nvidia-smi available in windows too. That will come in handy.

⟨DevonTheYoutuber⟩ so used an equation to find the Lagrange point but cant figure our how to get a manuvere node to put me in or around that area, did i miss something?
<queqiao->
⟨Stonesmile⟩ ⟪DevonTheYoutuber⟫ so i used an equation to find the […] ⮪ Which point are you trying to get to?
<queqiao->
⟨DevonTheYoutuber⟩ im trying to get to L2 and L4
<queqiao->
⟨DevonTheYoutuber⟩ ⟪Stonesmile⟫ Which point are you trying to get to? ⮪ ^
<queqiao->
⟨Stonesmile⟩ For EML2 you want to do a normal transfer to the moon, and slow down a bit at perilune, but not enough to enter orbit. Some playing around should get you there. For EML4 I'm not entirely sure, but others here have done it, searching for L4 in this channel might give something
<queqiao->
⟨Butcher⟩ L4 was a pain to aim at iirc. I wrote a script to point at the L4 point (as in draw an arrow) but it was pretty rough even still.
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ Maybe L4 can be done as the opposite of rendezvous, i.e. go to some point on the moon's orbit (dv requirement as for TLI), match orbit with the moon at apogee (~830m/s), then do rendezvous-type maneuvers that bring the craft to L4? 🤔
<queqiao->
⟨von Kerman⟩ * (~830m/s + ??? m/s for plane change),

⟨Butcher⟩ Maybe. If you scrub your manoeuvres around correctly you can get straight there though.

⟨The18thDoctor⟩ I had an RL-10 failure on a GEO-bound satellite, but managed to use the onboard maneuvering fuel to get into a half-sidereal-day period... now I have this funky-ass orbit
