egg changed the topic of #principia to: Logs: https://esper.irclog.whitequark.org/principia | <scott_manley> anyone that doubts the wisdom of retrograde bop needs to get the hell out | https://xkcd.com/323/ | <egg> calculating the influence of lamont on Pluto is a bit silly…

⟨egg⟩ That issue feels very “Doctor, it hurts when I do this”
<queqiao->
⟨lpg4999⟩ "I'm trying to use a part in a completely unintended way and it works in stock so it should work" doesn't make a very convincing case for putting effort into it.

⟨badrocketsco⟩ Hi! I'll try to not spam the channel with too many FAQs but is there a good tutorial for getting to the moon in principia? Im mostly having trouble plotting the course.
<queqiao->
⟨badrocketsco⟩ Sorry, quick (and probably a FAQ but I searched in discord/tutorial and missed the answer so spare me my life pls) but I am plotting my maneuver and pretty clearly got an intercept with the moon, its just not showing the moon periapsis and such. What setting am I missing?
<queqiao->
⟨Al₂Me₆⟩ Are you looking at the right reference frame? If you have an intercept you should see relevant apsides in either MCI or MEO. (And make sure you haven't accidentally decluttered them away... 'show unpinned markers' should be enabled.)
<queqiao->
⟨badrocketsco⟩ Ah, yup. Thats fixed it. Cheers!

⟨butcher6994⟩ ⟪lpg4999⟫ "I'm trying to use a part in a […] ⮪ No physics but does have mass feels like some sort of magic material.
<queqiao->
⟨Al₂Me₆⟩ Well, we _are_ talking about stickers that confer thermal protection somehow…
<queqiao->
⟨butcher6994⟩ Surely it's the rate of change of cake which is definitely not infinitesimal when I'm involved.

⟨qazerowl⟩ Any tips for planning multiple gravity assist maneuvers? I've been taking a look at KSPTOT and another similar web-based tool, but both of them seem to require manually inputting which planets to flyby in which order. Any advice for figuring that out? Or like resources that list some commonly-used paths for getting to different planets?
