<Rokker> Bornholio: needs more nukes
<Bornholio> sounds like thats all of them
<Bornholio> unless they have movies of underground. they may do the surface effects movies in a few years
<Bornholio> anyone have a orbital calculator that will back out a AP froom PE and eccentricity
<Bornholio> from
TidalStream has joined #RO
<soundnfury> Bornholio: isn't it just add r, multiply (1 + e), divide (1 - e), subtract r
<soundnfury> you can do that in a desk calculator, or a google search box :P
<Bornholio> -R? i think if i leave that off and of course convert to R from pe
<soundnfury> yeah I was giving for altitude ap and pe, if you have them as radii then obviously you don't need to add/subtract r
<Bornholio> okay then all i had messed up was a shifted decimal in R of earth
<Bornholio> .Doh
<Sarbian> CKB, MFI and SmokeScreen have been rebuilt for 1.5 on my jenkins. No code change
<Sarbian> @Bornholio @Starwaster ^^^
<Bornholio> Thank you very much
<Sarbian> CKAN should be up to date the next time the bot build.
<Starwaster> outstanding
<Bornholio> is that FAR Continued a real take over?
<Sarbian> Who is mad enough to work on FAR ?
<Sarbian> Oh, a long list of formatting commit. The project is in good hand, clearly.
<Bornholio> also I'm pretty sure your that definition (Mad {insane})
<Sarbian> Yeah, insane is indeed better. Blame the French in me
<soundnfury> oh, I *always* blame the French ;P
<Sarbian> Is that you R*kker ?
<Bornholio> I know enough southern to realise that its not a foaming at the mouth disease
<Bornholio> those are the people in MJ's posts :)
<Sarbian> I am not sure they need to know that I am French to blame me :D
<TidalStream> Sarbian, get you host Procedural Parts builds on your jenkins as well?
<TidalStream> Seems like a lot of RO mods are there
<Sarbian> Not now since I need to move to a new server soon-ish. But after that why not
<Bornholio> also thanks for the PP build for 1.5 TidalStream
<TidalStream> I tested it just on 1.4 because I don't have another 3 GB to spare for a new KSP install :) If it works on 1.5 without major bugs, I will make it official (hence CKAN will pick it up)
<TidalStream> Also lamont said that Linux builds are trickier than Linux ones and I am not sure if PP works properly on Linux with my builds.
<TidalStream> *than Windows/Mac ones

<TidalStream> The Soviet engines are the main ones missing from the orbital engines career path now.

<soundnfury> Mike`: well, I can't find where it implements engine-shutdown failures at _all_, so I must be blinder :P
<soundnfury> oh wait now I see it
<Mike`> there's a failed ignition after which the menu entry also disappears, however it apparently only calls Shutdown on the engine
<Raidernick_> Bornholio, if you have time at some point can you test out the 1.5.1 dll files and updates for RO
<Raidernick_> now that someone made a continuation of FAR we can update RO
<Bornholio> will do
ProjectThoth has joined #RO
<soundnfury> Mike`: hmm could be because "Shutdown" and "Activate" are two different events on ModuleEnginesRF https://github.com/NathanKell/ModularFuelSystem/blob/master/Source/Engines/ModuleEnginesRF.cs#L389

<soundnfury> (tbh I don't entirely understand how this yields the behaviour I've seen; maybe I'm just running on an ancient version of TF)
<Mike`> shutdown steals ignitions, but failedIgnition doesn't seem to
<soundnfury> yeah but I'm not sure failedIgnition is actually what happens in RO
<Mike`> oh well, it's not really important anyway, thanks for looking
<Mike`> oh, hm
<soundnfury> I think it might just be a shutdown that's more likely to happen at ignition?
<soundnfury> v0v
<Mike`> i don't think so, because the RO configuration configures ignition failures with module: TestFlightFailure_IgnitionFail
<soundnfury> I cba to figure it out now, I'm gonna get back to trying to design my new spaceplane
<soundnfury> (a task capable of swallowing up infinite time, as we all know)
<Mike`> hehe
<Mike`> np, i'll just ask nk should he ever return and i remember ;)
<soundnfury> hmm yeah
<soundnfury> we must hunt him down and drag him back ;)
<Mike`> sounds like a plan :)
<soundnfury> d'you want to see some pics of my spaceplane? (f'nar!)
<Mike`> I'm not that much int...err i mean sure! ;)
<Mike`> as long as i don't have to fly or build them i guess they can look fine :)
<Mike`> does it have a cargo bay?
<Mike`> looks like a private tourist (space-)jet
<soundnfury> no cargo bay, just six seats
<soundnfury> it's entirely for moving people around
<soundnfury> when I want to launch a satellite I put it on a plain rocket ;)
<soundnfury> (launching sats from a spaceplane is just a silly idea *cough* STS)
<soundnfury> It launches on top of a J-2S stage with a pair of RS-27 boosters. Just squeaks in at 150t GLOM
<soundnfury> orbiter has an RL10A-3-3A, supplies about 2.5k for orbital insertion and initial manœuvres. After that boils off, it's got about 150m/s on HTP RCS
<soundnfury> (in some ways that's a step backwards from Napier, which used storables - Agena - and could thus make big orbital manœuvres even after a long stay in space)
<soundnfury> (but Napier was a two-seater with the same 150t GLOM, so tripling the passenger count shall covereth a multitude of sins)
<Mike`> :)
<soundnfury> oh yeah and this RCS only gives 0.016g, so my de-orbit burn takes 10 minutes xD
<soundnfury> (maybe I should add more thrusters...)
<Mike`> :) the RL-10 is hidden in the back?
<soundnfury> yep
<soundnfury> I did much the same with the Agena on my old Napier spaceplane
<soundnfury> gotta love dem boattails
