<LunchBot> Yes, definitely.

* raptop pokes dV calc settings with a booster. Apparently there's no way to always show everything that the staging list can display?
<raptop> Also, I feel silly for not taking advantage of how you can move the navball to one side
<raptop> Shame that the stock UI still seperates out the orbit info into two mutually exclusive tabs

<LunchBot> You decide to solve your problems by using regular expressions. The kraken attacks during a cutscene.
<XXCoder> dang angered by regular expressions
<XXCoder> too logical or something I guess
<XXCoder> hah
<Mat2ch> the Vega C launched today didn't perform well :|
<Althego> yes the line was curving fown instead of up
<Mat2ch> They said there was a pressure leak or something in the second stage so it underperformed
<Mat2ch> and I guess that's when they aborted and the third stage didn't fire at all

<NeckoGecko> I dont understand both of these words :D
<Althego> good, it is better for you that way
<Mat2ch> NeckoGecko: in that case you either just let it go or use a search engine. But beware of what you might find :D
<NeckoGecko> sounds pretty... threating o_o

<ThatOneGuy> Merry Christmas!
<Althego> in a few days
<ThatOneGuy> well, yeah
<ThatOneGuy> u right
<darsie> calendar keeping was unreliable. Nobody knows when Christmas actually is/was.
<Althego> but the original should be now, on the shortest day
<darsie> That would be an unlikely coincidence.
<Althego> not a coincidence, christians intentionally reused the already existing date

<LunchBot> Bacon and fried tomato sandwich.
<Althego> so the bacon is raw but the tomato is fried?
<raptop> Just don't eat a can of mystery goo
<Althego> never make a sandwich smoothie, much less try to drink it
<ThatOneGuy> Submarine-smoothie
<Althego> making an icecream out of the blended sandwich is right out
<ThatOneGuy> hey, are you guys open to a discussion about one of ksp2's mechanics?
<raptop> I guess, though such discussions are hit or miss
<ThatOneGuy> alright, give me a sec
<ThatOneGuy> The way SoI's are set up in KSP1 are a bit unusual, to say the least, but it is unique and rather useful. However, with KSP2 coming out and having Interplanetary travel, we have been arguing about how a star systems SoI will work. I would assume that it would work like a planet's SoI, with it changing to the dominant body when you leave the planets
<ThatOneGuy> gravity. However, there is no "Dominant Body" in the nothingness between systems. I think that we will experience a period of no gravity, and just be able to "stop", essentially. My friends think that instead of there being no gravity towards an area, that it will just snap into place, like planet orbit to Kerbol orbit.
<ThatOneGuy> . I think that my theory is correct but does have problems by saying that I could travel into the vast nothingness of space, and just keep going with no orbit to anything, and thiers is saying that no matter how far away I get from either, I will always be orbiting one.
<raptop> I wouldn't be surprised if Kerbol etc get SOI boundaries with interstellar space(tm), but would want to wait to see what the devs do
<ThatOneGuy> Idk, because that would mean a potentially infinite "Box", if you will.
<raptop> The distance limits in KSP1 are really just precision related
<raptop> Like there's no hard limit
<ThatOneGuy> That would mean limitless systems made by mod communites, as well as space to exceed even the largests values of speed
<ThatOneGuy> oh
<ThatOneGuy> yeah, but eventually is an overflow, right? The Kraken is a fine example of this.
<ThatOneGuy> And they said the were killing the Kraken
<ThatOneGuy> IDK, i know its not important, but at this point, im pretty curious. This is going to be a really important part of the game.
<raptop> There have been multiple attempts at Kraken slaying in the past, we'll see if they succeed this time
<ThatOneGuy> lol
<ThatOneGuy> Im just really exited
<Althego> imagine the field day danny is going to have with the first available version :)
<raptop> Anyway, is it really the dev's fault if a player just keeps on going into the void, or uses a script to generate a million-part craft?
<ThatOneGuy> no, but
<ThatOneGuy> actually, just no
<ThatOneGuy> I just like to think about these things
<ThatOneGuy> Its like shower thoughts, but cooler and extra meaning less
<raptop> I'm somewhat concerned that the devs are too wedded to keeping the parts similar to KSP1, including how we arguably have too many engines chasing too few roles
<raptop> Or, adding the Skipper meant that a cluster of 2 or 3 LV-T30/LV-T45 engines never makes sense. And similarly, why use 2 Skippers when you can use 1 Mainsail?
<ThatOneGuy> well, according to the forums, they realized that, and are now making players aware of EVERY minor detail so you can get more use out of them
<ThatOneGuy> Oh, the whole "why use mo engines on a shuttle when I can use 3 vectors" thing
<ThatOneGuy> honestly, you have a point. MOAR boosters insnt just a saying, its the way the game is played. The amount of realism is just up to how much you want to limit yourself

<FLHerne> > You invent a new kind of snack, unsurpassed in the history of Kerbalkind. Jeb chokes to death on a KitKat, but gets better.
