Conventia. — Given the amount of work that goes into modding KSP and working around it's limitations, I'm not sure whether a from scratch implementation wouldn't have been less work overall. Granted, that's irrelevant, since a huge part of mods actually getting developed is based around relatively instant gratification and anything from scratch is way less likely to get to that point.

Kerbinator. — In rail thrusting is not future tech at all, and that mod apply it to RO ion engine with 2-body physics, as cruise control. As a matter of fact, it is really PC-unfriendly to have 1000x physic warp with Principia since it will be easy to wake up Kraken with that and SAS is seriously shaking.

Conventia. — Last night I did a launch to Mars and the transfer window planner said 3727 dv total and then I played with the flight planner and ended up with exactly that much dv being required.

Conventia. — Is it possible to put in a fake initial orbit while in the tracking station and then make a flight plan?

Conventia. — Cause as far as I can tell, a flight plan is a snapshot of the vessel orbit at one moment in time and everything is based on that, so if modifying the initial conditions were possible, it would be easier to do flight planning without hacking gravity and moving random probes around.
