Ashnoom. — The second node is not used yet
<discord->
Ashnoom. — according to MJ planner it should take ~3600dV in non-principia 'mode'. But so far I am up to 4100dV and th is the best I can get 😕

egg. — the orientation of the first node is confusing, what is the manœuvre frame there ? Can we get images in multiple reference frames (ECI and ECSA might be interesting for departure, SCI for the overall look of the ellipses)?
<discord->
Ashnoom. — I, I, gave up :-/ i had accidentally pressed shift at some point. Everything was sobbing out of control and the ports themselves were not signed on the vessel any more so thrust was off-centre due to high dining rate
<discord->
Ashnoom. — I will provide more pictures next Venus (or Mars) launch

Ashnoom. — As so far I've always had trouble getting a good transfer
<discord->
egg. — (also the usual recommendation by @Damien et al. applies: when learning how to do something with Principia, remove difficulties elsewhere; sandbox is the way to go, launching from Kourou, or even stock, until you get a feel for how things should behave)
<discord->
Ashnoom. — I do rendezvous around earth usually within an orbit after launch. I easily do GEO and moon stuff. But once a leave earth SOI it's like I can't accomplish a thing xD

Zeusbeer. — It's possible with about 3600 m/s
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — I'd recommend using mechjeb to launch into target LAN
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — after that the manouver is pretty straight forward
<discord->
Ashnoom. — Yeah, I would have to figure out the correct LAN first though 😉
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — no mechjeb does that for you
<discord->
Ashnoom. — ?
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — you select Venus as a target with ksp-features in principia
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — then you can use mechjeb to launch into target-lan
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — underneeth the 'launch into plane of target' option
<discord->
Ashnoom. — but you have to select an angle right?
<discord->
Ashnoom. — or whatever that value represents
<discord->
Ashnoom. — Or should i t be kept at 0?
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — no if you select the target and press launch into target LAN it just does it
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — it says zero but it works, at least for me
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — Egg, I deleted my flight plan and my game is continuously crashing when I try to re-enter the vehicle...
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — 😅

<discord->
Zeusbeer. — or at least freezing (but the bad kind) (edited)

lpg. — "launch into target LAN" is _not_ the optimal LAN for a transfer

lpg. — "launch into target LAN" is _not_ the optimal LAN for an interplanetary transfer (edited)
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — it's good enough 😅
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — or does the polar orbit approach work better for this
<discord->
lpg. — polar would work better; the _right_ LAN would work best
<discord->
Ashnoom. — for me target plane & LAN = same location
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — idk if the 1.11 version of mechjeb makes a difference
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — I play principia for testing on the latest ksp version
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — just using SMURF
<discord->
egg. — if you want to report a bug you may want to be more descriptive. What do you mean by re-enter? Is this @lpg’s https://github.com/mockingbirdnest/Principia/issues/2974? If that is the case just close the final trajectory analyser before switching
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — No I deleted the flight plan, game froze so I closed, and then when trying to re-enter the vehicle it kept on freezing, but after a while it allowed me to enter in
<discord->
Zeusbeer. — it's just the deleting the flight plan freeze I suppose
<discord->
lpg. — my workaround for that has been to delete all maneuvers, hit rebase and shorten the plan duration before hitting the final Delete button. seems to work reliably (when I remember)

Zeusbeer. — yeah I figured that out too
<discord->
Sumguy. — who?
<discord->
Ashnoom. — Hitting rebase on a 200+d flight plan with no more manoeuvres also causes my game to freeze for a couple of minutes
<discord->
lpg. — > and shorten the plan duration
<discord->
lpg. — I may have got the order backwards
<discord->
Ashnoom. — I couldn't shorten it. Kept saying it couldn't for some reason
<discord->
lpg. — you can't make a plan shorter than the maneuvers it contains, were you trying to shorten it before deleting maneuvers?
<discord->
Ashnoom. — After
<discord->
Ashnoom. — Fried the manoeuvres, then tried to shorten which wasn't allowed
<discord->
Ashnoom. — Deleted*
<discord->
egg. — that seems rather strange. What was the error message ?

egg. — Note that there is a hole in the « currently imaged » spot on the map, which corresponds to the sunglint that you can see on the ocean (that part of the image is not usable for ocean colour monitoring)
<discord->
egg. — (but conversely you would be interested in looking at that area for oil spill monitoring, because oil contrasts very well in the glint spot)
<discord->
egg. — big glint from in GEO (with a small glint spot from an LEO sat somewhere)
<discord->
egg. — Here is the updated prototype; you can use the « small map » setting to make things about 4× faster (and also take up less screen real estate). Turning off the imagers is still the way to go if you want to warp a lot.
<discord->
egg. — Same caveats as last time, except that the ContractConfigurator dependency is gone.
<discord->
egg. — CC @Stonesmile, @Damien, et al. in case you want to have another go at it.
