I had no attachment point that I could use on the bottom of my landing stage, so I decided to launch it stored upside-down in the fairing, to then switch the control point to normal and pilot it normally. does this work or am I wasting time
<Althego>
i would put a cubic octagonal strut to the bottom, and there you go, you have your attachment point
<Althego>
you can of course do the upside down thing
<funkenstein>
rather, it has four outer engines and tanks and one inner one, the four offset the weight of the one and therefore tthe middle section is far higher than the surrounding four and is not a reasonable attachment oint

<taniwha>
2.4 TMR, on the other hand, probably isn't enough to get you off duna
<funkenstein>
haha
<funkenstein>
whichever KSP means by TWR
<Pinkbeast>
I'm torn between saying you can't have 2.4 TMR because it isn't dimensionless and yes we all say TWR when we mean T(W asl on Kerbin)R

You hire Rube Goldberg to make your next rocket. You see what a geon looks like from the inside.
<Althego>
In theoretical general relativity, a geon is a nonsingular electromagnetic or gravitational wave which is held together in a confined region by the gravitational attraction of its own field energy. They were first investigated theoretically in 1955 by J. A. Wheeler, who coined the term as a contraction of "gravitational electromagnetic entity".[1]

<taniwha>
my rule of thumb is: missions: you do something. outcomes: something happens (maybe to you)
<taniwha>
that would definitely be an outcome :)
<funkenstein>
Yes, but sometimes things just happen to you, one after the other. Like a...series of unfortunate events.
<taniwha>
a series of outcomes
<taniwha>
basically, mission: in your control. outcome: not in your control
<taniwha>
willful vs unwillful
<taniwha>
it would help greatly if the bot had some actual context
<taniwha>
previous outcomes selecting possibilities for subsequent missions
<taniwha>
one thing to consider is the Apollo 13 mission ended the moment the O2 tank exploded
<taniwha>
after that it was a series of "you attempt to get home" and various outcomes (with the eventual outcome of getting home)
<taniwha>

<taniwha>
no argument that it can be good for inspiration, nor that it can be quite funny, but I find that scrambled missions breaks the spell
<taniwha>
all the best combos have been "you do something" "something happens", regardless of absurdity (though the more absurd, the better, in general)
<taniwha>
of course, that's my opinion (not worth much), but at least you'll understand where I'm comeing from when I pipe up about these things
<taniwha>
(and that "here comes a taniwha" should be an outcome :P )
