<SporkWitch> Izaya: re: awkward probe placement, while imperfect, you can use a radial attachment part from the structural tab. I've done that to attach a probe core to my stations without blocking kerbal movement (since I use CLS). It can be done on ships too, though you have to make sure to have it rotated right and set control mode to "forward." Still puts the control point slightly off-centre, but
