So help me god, if I see another idiot complain about specs and date about KSP2, there will be unpleasant events.
<darsie>
When will KSP2 be out for Linux PCs?
<darsie>
Dear god
<ThatOneGuy>
WHAT DID I SAY
<darsie>
<ThatOneGuy> So help me god, if I see another idiot complain about specs and date about KSP2, there will be unpleasant events.
<darsie>
scnr
<ThatOneGuy>
no, but in all seriousness, it is irritating.
<darsie>
Will something blow up?
<ThatOneGuy>
my school, probably
<darsie>
Dang, schools should not blow up.
<ThatOneGuy>
typically, no. But there might be an UNRELATED COINCIDENCE
<ThatOneGuy>
wink wink
<darsie>
are you working at/for ... KSP?
<ThatOneGuy>
no, but the forums suck to be on right now

<darsie>
I can't get intersect markers with Kerbol escape trajectories.
<ThatOneGuy>
You can esacpe kerbols gravity?
<Mat2ch>
ThatOneGuy: KSP2 probably wont run on my 386, right?
<darsie>
I can't plan an encounter to a comet on escape trajectory.
<darsie>
Mat2ch: I guess it could if there was enough memory.
<Mat2ch>
But do we measure the speed in fps then?
<ThatOneGuy>
I have no Idea, i have only ever had a little laptop. I more of a mechanical guy, not a technical guy
<darsie>
µfps
<darsie>
fph?
<ThatOneGuy>
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? YOU ARE SPEAKING IN TOUNGES!
<darsie>
microframes per second
<darsie>
frames per hour
<ThatOneGuy>
MAY THE POWER OF CHRIST REPELL YOU!
<ThatOneGuy>
oh
<Mat2ch>
We should switch it around. spf.
<Mat2ch>
But we might have to change it to hpf or even dpf.
<darsie>
I'm not sure that's a speed unit.
<Althego>
0, because 386 is probably not going to run any required os
<ThatOneGuy>
how about ijsrlgbiokjbeariusgkbjepikrgjsbd ps
<darsie>
I ran Linux on a 386.
<ThatOneGuy>
alright, i dont understant any of this, so imma leave
* ThatOneGuy
left slowly
<Mat2ch>
Althego: we can try running it in a VM on 386... without VT.

I hate when people can't spell tongue
<Althego>
i think not even linux supports 386 anymore, actually at least 486
<darsie>
m/s is speed. s/m is not speed.
<darsie>
But there's Linux for i386 or so
<Althego>
so kernel 3.7 or older is needed
<darsie>
<darsie> Does debian run on a 386? <enigma9o7[m]> no <sney> not anymre
<Althego>
so anyway you need to go back, i dont know, maybe 8 years and then install a vm, install windows in it, and run ksp in that maybe?
<Mat2ch>
I wont do anything like that. And I hope nobody ever will :D
<Althego>
hehe, no, 10 years. maybe that is debian wheezy?

Debian still supports i386 it seems
<Mat2ch>
or they didn't rename the architecture :)

Great, someone will make a ballon now for BDArmory.
<raptop>
heh
<packbart>
I think there is already an airballoon mod. and another one that adds climatologically accurate wind to blow it off course
<packbart>
(actually I think there are several wind generators. I used Kerbal Weather Project. Makes recovering on water difficult unless you cut the chute ;)

"I can't make high-fidelity weather models of the whole planet run fast enough" "why is that necessary, players won't notice" "..."
<packbart>
it's pre-computed, anyway
<FLHerne>
maybe it was a different mod then
<FLHerne>
there was definitely someone trying to compute weather patterns in real time
<packbart>
this one simulated five years at 55 altitude levels, then compressed it into hourly averages, except for the launch sites that get a year's worth of averaged data
<packbart>
"At select Kerbal launch sites, weather time-series were extracted from the 1x1 degree gridded weather dataset. These year-long time-series allow players to experience dynamic weather that changes each day. Since these time-series were retrieved from a point locations, the weather varies temporally but not spatially. This is in contrast to the climatology discussed above, wherein the weather varies
<packbart>
spatially but does not change from day to day."
<packbart>
hm. the text was longer than I expected
<packbart>
no rain, though :) that's yet another mod...
