Goliath National Products has contracted you to develop the world's first orbit-capable, man-rated, slingshot launcher! Due to budget cuts, your rocket is made of cheap rushed 3d-printed parts and disintegrates upon launch.
<Eddi|zuHause>
did they mean "kerbal-rated"? or what is this "man" they're speaking about?

<raptop>
It's rated to carry all of the man-pages!
<raptop>
(which given modern SDcards is much lighter than an actual kerbal)
<LunchBot>
No recently-mentioned mission found matching "man-rated".

Hy Everybody. I have a Problem. Build a Space Shuttle with Extra Tank and Boosters - and it is Seperatet. With the Green Flag i can Say Shuttle or Boosterpart is Main Spaceship - but on the Ramp - only that active Part is there - and in the sequence only the Stages from the active part. How can i "Melt them together"
<packbart>
hm. connect them? only one of the assemblies can be marked for launch
<packbart>
(and that's about as much as I know about KSP 2, yet :)
<Skolgi>
It is connectet via a "Radial Entkoppler" - that Explosive Part. But not realy :/
<packbart>
ah. hm. odd. did you pick it up by its root part and surface-attach it on the radial decoupler?
<packbart>
it shouldn't be a separate assembly anymore if it work. or so I believe
<Skolgi>
ive been there for a couple of Time.
<Skolgi>
First Build the Shuttle. Then Built the Tank. At the End i add the Boosters.
<Skolgi>
Dont know where it seperatet the Ships
<packbart>
I can imagine how it would fit together. radial decouplers should be the correct part for that. I don't really know anything about even deciding whether it's a bug or not, though, I'm afraid :)
<packbart>
I only watch others play KSP 2 for now

For that you must go to Russia or Kentucky, depending upon what stupid thing you need done

If someone official in here - the Rocket Editor / FSF SUCKS! - somehow i got a "spin" in my Parts and nothing fits anymore
<raptop>
Not sure what you mean, but you can rotate parts with the QWEASD keys
<Skolgi>
Yes - i did - a lot of time to fit the Shuttlepart - and the Boosterpart with Tank, like wrote up there. and somehoe there is a little spin about 10 Degres betwen some parts. That sucks to not able to fit it again.

So again - if sombody official will read this - Again - you need to Bugfix the FZF / Rocket Editor! 6 Hours of trying a couple of times to build a Spaceshuttle - and every Time i get a "twist" in the symetry and nothing works anymore. This is absolutly frustrating!
<Skolgi>
vleard a couple of times the Workbench and restart from Zero - just in Case.... But after all - there is a little Rotation somewhere that ist not ok - after that - Place a Rocket, or whatever with the Symetry Tool - and it is a Mass.

<Mat2ch>
Althego: it looked like the second stage engine was partially running
<Althego>
for a little while
<Mat2ch>
and then the stream cut
<Mat2ch>
so maybe exploded
<Althego>
the commentary said something about a specific point of the procedure
<Althego>
that may have been range safety
<Mat2ch>
Range safety? The rocket should've been out far enough since the booster dropped there also
<Althego>
true
<Althego>
but that was mostly empty
<Althego>
and the onboard video was barely working so it could have cut out just because it was unstable to begin with
<Mat2ch>
or tracking was lost.
<Mat2ch>
If the second stage deviated too far from the preprogrammed route that might be the case
<packbart>
the promise for an update on "what's going on" came while the on-board view was still showing, after the engine made some larger movements than earlier
<Mat2ch>
Scott made a video about the Terran 1 launch failure. :D

You accidentally refer to interstellar space as The Furthest Ring. The Konstructor convinces you to make extensive use of Rockomax Mk 55 engines.

(Also when I recommended swapping out Poodles with LV-T45s)
<Althego>
i almost never use the mk55
<raptop>
It's more for specialized cases like some lander designs, but the engines aren't wildly worse than in-line ones now

You rescue a Kerbal from the surface of the Mun without landing on the Mun. kmath despairs at your choices and resets its database.
<Mat2ch>
Take that kmath!
<Mat2ch>
and the kerbal jumped, used its EVA pack to get up and I collected em in flight.
<darsie>
I've done that several times. That mission is probably from me.
<darsie>
I switch to kerbals in a near orbital pass then jetpack to orbit and pick them up, potentially just with a ship with a capsule where they can refill their jetpack to get back to Kerbin.
<raptop>
nice
<darsie>
The capsule is in polar orbit, so Kerbals start the ascent when they're in that orbital plane.
<darsie>
That way I can rescue Kerbals without landing from almost anywhere, except from deep craters where I can't pass low enough over them. They may be able to walk to a higher place. Also terrain may make jetpacking to orbit impossible when it prevents a low trajectory.
<darsie>
Most of the time it's possible, though, either to the North or South.
