consumer jet turbines that can be tuned for that speed seem to be unobtainium so I'm thinking it'll be a hybrid rocket

We just watched the MST3K of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Starfighters and while it is not the _worst_ film we've ever seen - and we have now seen most of MST3K and quite a few original versions - it might be the one where the least happens
