Hi guys. Would it be a good idea to use "https://travis-ci.org" on a different build branch? It autobuilds on new commits and can be configured. Totally free for open source projects
<MartinX3>
there could be a "release" branch, where only the tested stuff gets comitted, which gets build immediately after push
<Thomas>
I have my own jenkins server, and I bet at some point it was configured to autobuild stellarator
<MartinX3>
ah, that would be nice too. the advantage of https://travis-ci.org would then only be, that you don't need to pay for hardware and energy
<Thomas>
I dont pay for hardware and energy, my father does.
<Thomas>
:P
<MartinX3>
muahahahahahahahaha xD
<MartinX3>
omfg :D
<Thomas>
(and tbh. 20€/month are not that much in exchange for full control)
<MartinX3>
sounds like you are as old as me :D
<Thomas>
17
<MartinX3>
oh, I'm 24
<Thomas>
xD
<MartinX3>
D: xD
<MartinX3>
yeahr, controll is better. a CI could implement malicious code into the build :(
<Thomas>
I once read something about bots who make PR's to repositories that autobuild pull requests. Those pull requests replace all code in the project with bitcoin mining code :D
<MartinX3>
omfg o.Ô
<MartinX3>
i prefer the bots, which telling me, if there any vulnerabilities in my code, which telling me, which code isn't covered by unittests, or bots which building images for me and the glorious bountysource addon which gives you the possiblitity to spend money for issues
<Thomas>
bots \o/
<MartinX3>
setting up an own server makes fun, i like it too, and i love linux, but it costs time D:
<MartinX3>
bots <3
<MartinX3>
are you the ThomasKerman ?
<Thomas>
Define "the"
<Thomas>
That's my old Github name
<MartinX3>
which is mentioned in the project for porting the physics library from C to C#
<Thomas>
Yes
<Thomas>
Never bothered to update the readme
<MartinX3>
wow, whats our new one?
<Thomas>
StollD
<MartinX3>
17 years old and doing these things sounds, like you're not fool and you are smart
<Thomas>
Which is basically my real name :D
<MartinX3>
ahh, the stollD which I'm fighting with because of the code conventions, you don't want :P
<Thomas>
Yes :P
<MartinX3>
that's sad, because code conventions are important for clean C#7 code :P
