Pap: I think it was just that we hadn't balanced them for RP-1

mike` yeah, it seems like PEG tries to issue attitude control commands even if it's not engaged.. and if you alraedy launched and are landed on a moon or something, it doesn't want to actually engaged. (even though it's sitting there issuing pitch/yaw commands)

I had a fix for it but I think Lamont implemented it a little differently or maybe just did his own thing with it. I forget what happened with that

i fixed it in PVG, it was just some coordination bugs between all the modules involved in launching

Starwaster, it works with the workaround though, and you can always really disable it with a "force enable/force disable" cycle. I've used PEG for an ascent from the moon :)

mike` oh so have I, but I had to start an ascent with classic mode then switch over just after take off. (good thing about lunar size/mass is that it needs very little pitch program and can switch over to PEG guidance almost immediately)

well, i didnt have to do that, did a normal peg ascent. It should work if you hit force enable and force disable

i do smart ass to do an 8deg pitch until 12k AP then turn on LAG/peg for my launch into plane, tap it once before hand with autowarp to get a time. if its a normal ascent (no rend) then i just fly a curve myself, skimming hills

pap would it be difficult in any way to make all "orphan" parts go to a phantom node. That way i can add the node to my game and then have access for dev on those parts

Bornholio, it would require a MM patch that runs very very last and takes every part that has TechRequired == CTT or Stock node
