<iximeow>
very frustrated i can't find the actual *executable code* for this stupid celestron handset
<iximeow>
quite terrified that the handset might run a custom VM and distributed applications target that somehow
<UmbralRaptor>
aaaaaaa
<iximeow>
i wonder what would happen if i email support@ and ask them

<bofh>
achievement unlocked: spliced myself an electrical connection into a random streetlamp outside the Paris Observatoire (don't worry, there's circuit breakers *in* the lamp that I turned off before doing the hookup to the binding posts, and I had a continuity tester lamp & dodgy voltmeter).
<iximeow>

<iximeow>
the electrons must flow
<bofh>
look, it's nice outside but I need my laptop both to read this paper and to implement a two-loop correction minimization algorithm based on quadratic programming
<iximeow>
outside is nice but outside with computers is nicer
<iximeow>
i'm probably writing a garbage collector tonight or soon
<bofh>
and there are no power hookups but literally the *sixth* streetlight I walked by on the Avenue de l'Observatoire just had the entire access panel flat-out missing (that *can't* be weatherproof >_>).
<iximeow>
...
<bofh>
so turn off the breakers, continuity-check, okay, light is off, dead-short domino coupler to case, no arc, okay. take shitty 3-outlet extension cord I acquired randomly a few days ago & cut off the plug & stripped the wires of it, carefully attach into said terminals. flip breaker back on. oh hey there's light again *and* my laptop is charging instead of at 2% battery & about to die.

wonders if anyone has looked into making a netbook that has 5 kg of batteries.

UmbralRaptor: I mean at this point I am seriously debating Strontium-90

<dekisu> back in germany they told me to follow the rules, always wait for traffic lights, always be on time, etc, so i did.… https://t.co/zNzntpg9XI

fwiw `unicodedata` would make a fairly concise alias: `python -c 'import unicodedata; print(*[(hex(ord(c)), unicodedata.name(c)) for c in "⟨ ⟩"], sep="\n")'
<SnoopJeDi>
where you'd replace "⟨ ⟩" with "$*" I guess? suppose you'd have to handle possible escapes too but at that point you're basically writing a small script :P
<bofh>
SnoopJeDi: ooh, nice, yeah that works excellently.

I wrote a !u-alike for my IRC bot before The Great VPS Crash

also in unrelated news goddamnit I've had Stone Halation stuck in my head all bloody day,
