it's a toggle lock mechanism same as the luger, when the bolt is forward, that little section that's flat, the two long sections sticking up would require infinite force to dislodge from straight via force along the barrel

then there's a mechanism by which the decompression after firing causes the bolt to release pressure on the toggle sections; which under decompression jump up a bit

this jump moves them sufficiently out of alignment that the remaining barrel pressure is able to force them further out of alignment without the previously needed infinite force
