if you have 80m of patch cat cable, and then a switch, and then another 80m, is that equivalent to 160m in terms of signal loss, or does it get renewed, fully, at the switch? I'm thinking it does, but maybe there's some like, loss or something I dont know about

just based on arbitrary google image results I'm lead to believe that ethernet is AC tristate with sustains, although sustains could just be a soft/firmway implimentation change to enhance the performance reliability of hardware
