Anyone know if Making Less History works in 1.12?
<Izzy>
I'm on a ... memory constrained system, so saving 300M from a system I don't use would be nice.
<Izzy>
Hmm, 45FPS with just EVE and Parallax, no Scatterer. Not great, not terrible.

Those small crafts are always impressive by their minimalism
<darsie>
Ion propulsion ftw :)
<darsie>
Unfortunately multi burn departures are hard to "simulate" in KSP.
<darsie>
Worked out for departure to Jool wit NERV, though.
<darsie>
Yeah, when you can't do it in one burn because your TWR is too low and a burn might take 15 min.
<Izzy>
is ... is it bad I'm considering running KSP through Proton-GE so I can force FSR onto it?
<Mat2ch>
Oh, I think I know what you mean. Splitting one long burn into several small ones
<darsie>
FSR?
<darsie>
yes
<Izzy>
FidelityFX Super Resolution
<Izzy>
AMD's upscaling system
<Izzy>
basically, running the windows version of the game on linux by converting DirectX to Vulkan on the fly all so I can run the game at a lower resolution and maybe squeeze a few more frames out of it that way, without it looking totally terrible.
<darsie>
The lander was 2-stage and the first stage burned out shortly before landing. Crashed a few times till I raised my initial altitude.
<darsie>
The ion return vehicle remained in orbit.

<Mat2ch>
If you have to do everything by hand, yes.
<Mat2ch>
It gets a bit easier if computers do the things
<darsie>
The pros use checklists.
<darsie>
And still lithobreak.
<darsie>
That split burn departure failed. I started 3 orbits earlier thinking my 4th burn would be at the right place, but I forgot that my orbits get longer.
<darsie>
Maybe I can measure how long these burns take and start early by that.
<Mat2ch>
There was a mod to split long burns into several small ones and leave at the right time...

You receive a tentacle-written note from the Kraken requesting the random detachment of 8937 control surfaces, or else. The surface of Kerbin disappears, turning the planet into a naked singularity.

nah, it's just that your scheme collapsed
<FLHerne>
earlier you accidentally destroyed the surface of Kerman, and covered it in control surfaces so no-one would find out

On your way home you are low on propellant, so you tell an engineer to go on EVA and remove some superfluous parts like landing legs. Your slide rule is signed by the president, becoming a slide law.
<Mat2ch>
Looks like we made it back then

Looks like ditching the landing legs gave you enough additional Δv

I might have told them to remove even more.

Why is a maneuver planned for 'Y476, D303, 04:29:51' given as '466y, 302d, 04:29371' in the 'Text maneuver editor'? I guess years and days start at 0 internally but are displayed starting at 1, but what's with the time of day?
