<Sigma88>
GregroxMun: if you want to play around with the SD new features let me know
<Sigma88>
maybe you can find some use for it in your mods

GregroxMun: I'm working on the science aspect of SASS
<GregroxMun>
oh yay
<GregroxMun>
gotta have that science
<Sigma88>
I'll probably nees some suggestions
<GregroxMun>
I haven't worked on the science portion of a mod of mine in probably a year.
<GregroxMun>
I don't even like writing descriptions for planets anymore.
<GregroxMun>
I don't know why or what changed.
<Sigma88>
descriptions is the only thing I like
<Sigma88>
I re-read the ones from SASS the other day and some are pretty cool
<Sigma88>
like the one for either phobos or deimos
<Sigma88>
phobos
<Sigma88>
Phobos has such a low gravity that landing on it is a very peculiar experience. Most of the times a landing on your nose is what you call 'a failure'. Here you would call it 'almost a failure'.
<Sigma88>
do you remember that? :D
<GregroxMun>
Oh yeah. :D
<Sigma88>
I'm rewatching now
<GregroxMun>
I need to go through those descriptions, maybe I'll get some inspiration
<Poodmund>
Might be worth adding this to your Bug Report post: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/154173-answered-not-generating-output-log/&do=findComment&comment=2905116
<Sigma88>
?
<Poodmund>
My output.txt logs weren't generating in Kerbal Space Program\KSP_x64_Data but were in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\Squad\Kerbal Space Program
<Sigma88>
Poodmund: did you change the CelestialBody of the Instances?
<Sigma88>
they need to load on Gael, not Kerbin
<Poodmund>
Yes, all the assets work fine when not resized and target Gael
<Sigma88>
right
<Sigma88>
problem is SD stops at the group definition for some reason
<Sigma88>
it only shows the planet
<Sigma88>
in the log
<Sigma88>
SigmaLog: > Planet: Gael
<Sigma88>
let me try
<Sigma88>
GregroxMun: dead?
<GregroxMun>
the stream stopped early for some reason but nothing different really happened
<GregroxMun>
shit broke yo
<GregroxMun>
I'm trying it again with the previous version of Principia
<egg>
GregroxMun: .... that's not useful, please don't downgrade to older bugs
<GregroxMun>
I'm pretty sure I've seen this bug before with the current version on a system that worked fine with a previous version. But I'm not sure. If it does the same thing then I'll upgrade back.
<Sigma88>
Poodmund: I'm loading GPP + KK + Kerbinside (Just KSPUpgrades) and made a group for KSCUpgrades
<Sigma88>
if it works I'll ask you to do the same
<Poodmund>
Ok
<Sigma88>
to see if it works
<GregroxMun>
egg: you're right, as usual
<GregroxMun>
do you need any configs or logs or anything or is this a known issue?
<egg>
GregroxMun: sorry, haven't looked at your issue yet, was reviewing some code
<egg>
the scaledspace celestials appear to be leaving their orbits to fool around elsewhere, but the plotted orbits have eggspected behaviour I think?
<egg>
it's odd that the scaled bodies are doing that tough
<egg>
GregroxMun: waitwait, you're on Cardano?
<egg>
GregroxMun: please upgrade to the latest version
<GregroxMun>
Cardano and Cartan both have it
<GregroxMun>
the video is cartan
<GregroxMun>
I just tested on cardano and it happens there too, but no video of it
<egg>
GregroxMun: uh, I'm pretty sure it says "Cardano" right there on the UI
<egg>
which means it's not Cartan
<GregroxMun>
well then it appears the version I have backed up is not up to date
<GregroxMun>
I will update and try again then
<egg>
(mind you the issue might be in both, but I'd like not to debug old versions that have known bugs)
<egg>
the overall solar system view looks like some weird mechanical calculator :D
<GregroxMun>
yeah it is kind of pretty in a weird way
<GregroxMun>
things going forward and backwards in a predicatble way
<egg>
but yeah, that's definitely not eggspected; see if it also breaks in Cartan (check that it says Cartan in the UI, and *create your save with Cartan*)
<GregroxMun>
I'm creating a new save with each test
<egg>
ok good
<egg>
so then just check that it says Cartan
<egg>
GregroxMun: any mods besides Kopernicus and BetterTimeWarp?
<GregroxMun>
DistantObject, KerbalEngineer, KittopiaTech, PlanetShine, Sigma Binary (not active on any planets), Texture Replacer
<egg>
what's Kittopia?
<GregroxMun>
a planet modding tool
<Thomas>
Planet Editor
<GregroxMun>
^
<Sigma88>
hi thomas
<Sigma88>
and hi egg
<egg>
GregroxMun: try removing Kittopia and Sigma Binary, just to be sure
<GregroxMun>
ok
<GregroxMun>
Still broken
<egg>
GregroxMun: yup, replicated
<egg>
this is *weird*
<egg>
GregroxMun: hmm, there are apocalypses
<egg>
GregroxMun: but for some reason we're not bringing them to the UI
<egg>
GregroxMun: so I would suspect this is just an apocalypse, and we're reacting badly to it :-p
<egg>
GregroxMun: try designing a saner system for now, I'll look into making the apocalypse warn better
<GregroxMun>
I didn't design the system actually, I just adapted it to KSP.
<egg>
... somebody has a somewhat simplified understanding of stability
<GregroxMun>
I was rather skeptical of this.
<GregroxMun>
Particularly the moons.
<GregroxMun>
moons of gas giants, to be clear.
Olympic1 is now known as Olympic1|Away
<GregroxMun>
They're 1 Jupiter mass planets, four of them, in 3:2 resonances.
<GregroxMun>
I don't know if they can remain there if they're more than 1 Jupiter mass.
<GregroxMun>
But 1 Jupiter Mass planets don't like to hold onto lots of earth-mass moons.
<GregroxMun>
3 is probably fine, but 5 is a bit much I would imagine.
<egg>
UmbralRaptor: aaaaaaaaaa
<GregroxMun>
Anyway I can confirm that the same principia bug happens with something as simple as a system with just the Sun, Kerbin, and Laythe. Laythe orbits Kerbin at 12000000m, same as Mun would if it weren't removed.
<TonyC>
GregroxMun, i don't really understand the video you published
<GregroxMun>
what video
<TonyC>
are these asteroids ?
<TonyC>
titans acheans and trojans
<GregroxMun>
Titans Acheans and Trojans. Titan = Gas Giant. Acheans = Greek Planets, Trojans = Trojan Planets
<GregroxMun>
They're for the Ultimate Solar System
<TonyC>
ooh, new planets
<GregroxMun>
Not really, no
<GregroxMun>
they're Jools, Laythes, and a Kerbin.
<GregroxMun>
But they will be new planets.
<GregroxMun>
There are 36 of them that need to be made, not counting the gas giants.
<GregroxMun>
But luckily I've got a team of modders who are willing to contribute.
<GregroxMun>
The video is a spacecraft in a distant polar orbit of the star, watching the orbits of all of the planets of the system, with DistantObjectEnhancement.

Greek Planets of course being Trojan Planets that are leading instead of trailing.
