<KillAshley> :(
<Sigma88> LOL
<KillAshley> DAMMIT QBOID, WORK WITH ME HERE
<KillAshley> on the plus side i solved galileo's problem
<KillAshley> i found a line "octaves = 2113370706"
<KillAshley> 0.o
<Sigma88> lol
<Sigma88> KillAshley: did you see my new stuff for SASS?
<KillAshley> not yet, no
<Sigma88> waiy
<Sigma88> wait
<KillAshley> nice
<KillAshley> so how do i use that new clock of yours
<KillAshley> about time i tested it
Olympic1|Away is now known as Olympic1
<Sigma88> Kopernicus/KopernicusTime = true
<Sigma88> will automatically recalculate year and day based off of the home planet
<Sigma88> Thomas: I am having issues with Utility.CreateReadable()
<Sigma88> should it work at the start ?
<Sigma88> because I think I am getting a completely black texture
<KillAshley> wait so how do i use it? like in a MM patch, or in one of my planet cfgs
<Sigma88> in the main Kopernicus node
<Sigma88> it doesn't matter if you use a patch or write it manually
<Sigma88> the important thing is that "KopernicusTime = true" ends up inside the Kopernicus node
<Sigma88> kinda like useOnDemand = true
<KillAshley> should i hit the patch to apply before or after NH, or does it not matter
<Thomas> Apply it before Kopernicus loads it :P
<Thomas> (it doesnt matter)
<KillAshley> ll
<KillAshley> kk
<Thomas> (unless you delete the kopernicus node)
<Sigma88> thomas, could you take a look at my code? see if there's something wrong with it?
<Sigma88> this produces black a texture
<Sigma88> a set of black textures
<KillAshley> i just realized something, this changed the clock based off Kerbin's rotation, correct?
<KillAshley> but i dont touch the rotation, of kerbin
<Sigma88> Thomas: sorry, this is the correct one
<Sigma88> KillAshley: rotation and revolution
<Sigma88> rotation = day
<Sigma88> revolution = year
<Sigma88> try it in NH
<KillAshley> kk
<Sigma88> should be pretty obvious
<KillAshley> nothing changed.....this is what im using https://pastebin.com/0rqU3p6y
<KillAshley> wait you scrub
<KillAshley> its useKopernicusTime
<KillAshley> ok it doesnt work for NH lol
<KillAshley> Sigma88: a day lasts 6 hours, a year lasts 40 minutes.........
<Sigma88> hmmm lol
<Sigma88> which kopernicus do you use?
<KillAshley> jenkins build 46
<Sigma88> I'll take a look later :)
<KillAshley> cool
<KillAshley> the rotation of kerbin hasnt actually been touched, so a "day" still lasts 6 hours, and an orbit around Sonnah takes about 8 days total
<Sigma88> is it locked?
<Sigma88> ah no
<Sigma88> stupid question :D
<Sigma88> so day = 6hr
<Sigma88> and year = 48 hrs?
<Sigma88> more or less
<Sigma88> I don't understand what's going on
<Sigma88> :'(
<Sigma88> stupid textures seem to be empty
<KillAshley> ok so vanilla rotation is 5:59.9, NH is 5:11.22, with the clock its 8 years lol
<Sigma88> so it worked?
<Sigma88> ah no
<Sigma88> ok

<GregroxMun> Fan theory: the trees on Kerbin have fruit
<GregroxMun> and the fruit is Kerbals
Galileo88 has joined #Kopernicus
<GregroxMun> And each type of plant scatter on Kerbin is a different race of Kerbals
<GregroxMun> o/
<Galileo88> o/
<GregroxMun> What if Kerbals are the fruit of the various ground scatter plants on Kerbin.
<GregroxMun> Or Gael for that matter
<GregroxMun> and colonization is easy as long as you have Kerbaltree seeds.
<GregroxMun> (And a habitable planet)
<Galileo88> that would be fun to see
<GregroxMun> Actually does Gael still have plants?
<GregroxMun> IIRC it's largely deserted anyway?
<Galileo88> yep still does
<KillAshley> Galileo88: i found your problem
<Galileo88> oh yeah?
<KillAshley> having 2.1 billion octaves tends to cause issues lol
<GregroxMun> I should have caught that.]
<Galileo88> ... thats what happens in Kittopia.
<GregroxMun> Yeah that's the problem
<GregroxMun> Kittopia likes to switch values for some reason
<GregroxMun> I don't know why
<Galileo88> i thought i caught all of those
<KillAshley> yeah i didnt see it at first, thought it was a LandControl issue
<KillAshley> but yeah, its preferable to not have billions of octaves on a noise lol
<Galileo88> Yeah i can see that :)
<Galileo88> have you tested it?
<KillAshley> yup
<KillAshley> set it lower, clear the cache file and load it up
<KillAshley> workd fine
<Galileo88> ok great!
<KillAshley> any other issues let me know and ill help
<Galileo88> Of course. Feel free to chip in on the repo any time. The more the merrier and im sure you can teach us a thing or two
<GregroxMun> Idea: Aquatic Space Program. A mod where you start in an underwater Kerbal Space Center. XD
<GregroxMun> You have to climb up several km of water in order to reach the surface.
<Galileo88> KillAshley what value did you have it set at? I just booted up a fresh install with a value of 64 for the octaves, and have the same problem.
<Galileo88> I have noticed that clearing the cache after seeing the issue typically results in the issue going away. I dont know why, but a fresh GPP install makes the artifacting come back. regardless of the octave value
<GregroxMun> Does the fresh GPP install also have a cache?
<Galileo88> no
<GregroxMun> I really wish we had the ability to set glow maps for planets. Could do glowing lava oceans, bioluminescent algae, city lights, volcanoes, hot jupiters and cool brown dwarfs, and hot terrestrial planets
<KillAshley> one sec, will double check
<Galileo88> ok i set it to the value to 12 and the artifacts went away
<KillAshley> sucess!
<KillAshley> lol
<KillAshley> probably just overloading the PQS somehow
<KillAshley> how the terrain though
<Galileo88> so wierd
<Galileo88> i have to check the terrain
<KillAshley> yeah checked my recycle bin for the files lol, i just left the octaves as 2 when i was checking

<Qboid> GregroxMun: Proxima Centauri | mass/Earth | mass: 70000
<Qboid> GregroxMun: Jupiter | mass/Ganymede | mass: 12812
<GregroxMun> Oh yay, I can put earth-mass planets in a 1:2:4 setup around a red dwarf and it will behave similarly to Jupiter's moons.
<Sigma88> :)
<Sigma88> 0/
<GregroxMun> I'm thinking of something which is eerily similar to the Galilean setup
<Galileo88> im interested to hear it
<GregroxMun> Compiling a pastebin now

<Sigma88> hi
<Sigma88> ksp is making me go crazy
<Sigma88> >_>
<GregroxMun> I need to make a list of Kerbal telescopes that can look at stars and planets around them
<Galileo88> KillAshley cured my craziness.
<GregroxMun> I have the SLIPPIST telescope as a stand-in for TRAPPIST.
<GregroxMun> Sigma88, didn't we make a list for stellarator star names of kerbalized telescope designations?
<Sigma88> yes
<GregroxMun> oh yeah, here it is

<GregroxMun> "seems about fine to me" and then a second later "I wonder how many option you can deabout fine"
<GregroxMun> Galileo88: have you given any thought to what sort of planet/planets you want to make for the Ultimate Solar System?
<Galileo88> I haven't yet, as i have been really busy. In the next few weeks though i should be able to come up with some ideas
<GregroxMun> I need to finish up SLIPPIST-1e and some more features with its system and call it 1.0, so I can move on to other projects.
<GregroxMun> In the long term I'd like to add more red dwarf systems available to Galactic Neighborhood users.
<KillAshley> GregroxMun: how did you break qboid
<GregroxMun> I don't kno
