TwistenX: the relevant altitudes should be on the wiki under each planet/moon. In the case of the Mun, no synchronous orbit is possible due to it being tidally locked.

If you're on the near side, you should have more or less continuous contact given the various Kerbin ground stations (and you can certainly extend things there). Limited far side coverage is possible if you put a sat ahead or behind the mun on an orbit with the same period.

I think I found a solution. I make two programs, kspconverttime and kspconvertdate for different input syntax and output both formats.
