<Eddi|zuHause>
to be fair, logically, the sun will be right behind the ground
<Eddi|zuHause>
(on an astronomical level)
<raptop>
Planets are small, so statistically this is reasonable, right?
<Eddi|zuHause>
is that people complaining that "early access" titles are not fully polished games?
<SporkWitch>
basically
<darsie>
That and paying 50 USD.
<Eddi|zuHause>
well... i haven't...
<SporkWitch>
it was terribly evil of the devs to hold guns on people and make them buy early access before the game had what they wanted...
<Eddi|zuHause>
but the target audience for those 50$ is people that believe the game will be worth that in 2,3,5, ... years
<darsie>
Or it might fail and stop developing.
<darsie>
It's a gamble.
<Eddi|zuHause>
the key term is *believe*
<SporkWitch>
also, as i've previously explained, an indication of how close to completion it is. Remember that all components have been in development alongside each other. Everything is very far along and it's mostly polish and bugfixes. The content in the public build is artifically restricted to focus testing where they need it most.
<raptop>
One thing that became apparent in the discussions is how many people actually started playing KSP1 *after* version 1.6 released. (Wow, it's embarassing how long it tock for a stock Δv calculator)
<raptop>
*took
<Eddi|zuHause>

<Mat2ch>

<Mat2ch>

<Eddi|zuHause>

<Althego>
breaking ground is better than making history
<Althego>
if i rememebr correctly which one is which
<Eddi|zuHause>
yes, that's what i thought
<Eddi|zuHause>
but then i barely played it...
<SporkWitch>
yeah, breaking ground is the one that added all the deployable science, and i believe robotics as well
<SporkWitch>
making history added the saturn V and other apollo parts
<SporkWitch>
as to KSP1, i did get in very early (maybe even right after launch, can't remember for sure, but it had the ORIGINAL part picker, and only a dozen or so parts lol). Played a little, then forgot about it until sometime after 1.0 when I rediscovered it and really fell in love. So far, dev's going about as i expected (faster actually; i wasn't expecting science for a year or two, and it sounds like
<SporkWitch>
we'll have it before the one year mark) since they announced early access rather than full release.
<SporkWitch>
once science mode drops, assuming they release it when they want to, not because the publisher forced them, i think we'll see a signfiicant acceleration, because it'll mean the core system bugs and UI polish are done or near-done
