I would be lying if I said I understand, but I do at least accept it.

<GregroxMun>
Jurassic Bark
<teki>
heh
<Sigma88>
GregroxMun: yup :D
<GregroxMun>
That's a futurama episode
<teki>
okay
<Sigma88>
really???
<GregroxMun>
the one that makes everyone cry
<Sigma88>
teki if you have a question just type your question
<teki>
okay
<teki>
a sec
<Sigma88>
GregroxMun: the one with the dog that dies waiting for fry?
<GregroxMun>
yes
<Sigma88>
and why is it called jurassic bark?
<teki>
@Sigma88 is there a way to make planets for ksp visually?
<GregroxMun>
Bark is the sound a dog makes
<Sigma88>
teki define visually
<Sigma88>
yes but why jurassic?
<teki>
like you change parameters a a preview changes
<Sigma88>
after you tried those, try them again but using 1.20334 in the transformscale
<GregroxMun>
It would be really nice if KittopiaTech would update scaledspace changes so I didn't have to restart the game each time I want to make changes.
<GregroxMun>
innerRadiusMult = 0.905405656866394 works better, but is not perfect.
<GregroxMun>
and all of these seem to become *less* visible as you near the surface.
<GregroxMun>
Until you get close enough
<GregroxMun>
then it just looks like Kerbin's AFG, just as short, but slightly darker.
<OhioBob>
I have a request. Can you guys investigate whether or not it's possible for Kopernicus to fix the IVA radar altimeter for planets having negative surface elevations. The radar altimeter is suppose to read 'height above terrain', but currently, when the ground has a negative elevation, it read the height above the datum. It behaves as if the plan
<OhioBob>
et has an ocean with sea level at the datum. But when there are no oceans, the altimeter should read the height above the solid surface, even if it lies below the datum.
<GregroxMun>
Well planets shouldn't have below-zero terrain if they don't have oceans. It can be buggy.
<GregroxMun>
(In more than just that respect)
<OhioBob>
What bugs? I haven't noticed any.
<GregroxMun>
The camera can get stuck above the ground, the surface can become invisible, lighting can go away.
<GregroxMun>
FlattenOcean or VertexHeightOffset should fix this.
<GregroxMun>
But only by ensuring there is no below-zero terrain.
<OhioBob>
The radar altimeter should still work correctly regardless.
egg is now known as egg|nomz|egg
<OhioBob>
I've eliminated negative elevations in the past using the offset setting in VertexHeightMap. But some developers may not be diligent enough to fix it. Negative elevations can be produced unintendedly by PQSmods.
<GregroxMun>
I know. I just mentioned the two fixes for that. The solution is to tell the mod makers to fix it where needed.
<GregroxMun>
VertexHeightOffset does the same thing as HeightMap with the offset setting.
<OhioBob>
I know how to eliminate negative terrain, that's not my problem. I'd just like to have a correctly functioning radar altimeter in case there are areas that are below the datum.
<GregroxMun>

Like, it's not its own federation world.
<GregroxMun>
It's not Andoria itself.
<GregroxMun>
Is it a colony world?
<Sigma88>
is that the new st?
<GregroxMun>
No, it's Enterprise
<GregroxMun>
~Over 10 years old. :P
<GregroxMun>
From Season 4 iirc.
<Sigma88>
ent always intrigued me
<Sigma88>
I never really followed it
<Sigma88>
but I loved the quantum leap
<Sigma88>
:D
<GregroxMun>
Ent was my first Trek. My parents had tried to show me Star Trek in the past, to no success. The first time I watched a full episode of Star Trek, willingly, was a re-run of Enterprise when Trip is stranded somewhere with an alien that can't speak english.
