<Kopernicus> Kopernicus/master a24f54e Dorian Stoll: Trying to fix the NRE's on Linux (an probably on Win32 as well)
<Kopernicus> [Kopernicus] StollD commented on issue #158: I hope my last commit fixed this issue. Here is the build for you, so you can test it.... https://git.io/vHyuU
<Thomas> Btw: Kopernicus passed 1000 commits :D

<Sigma88> back to work on GN stars
<Sigma88> I decided to them myself since I don't like the realistic stuff from greg
<Sigma88> I mean, I like it as an option
<Sigma88> but not the default one
<Sigma88> !tell Gregrox* I decided to use a different technique to generate star colors. I'll move it to the plugin and use a spectrum texture to define the colors
<Qboid> Sigma88: I'll redirect this as soon as they are around.
<Qboid> Thomas: I'll redirect this as soon as they are around.

<Thomas> Sigma88
<Sigma88> how complicated would it be to edit the material of a star?
<Sigma88> specifically, edit the emitcolor

<Thomas> Sigma88: celestialBody.scaledVersion.GetComponent<Renderer>().sharedMaterial.SetColor("_EmitColor0", <your new color>);
<Sigma88> thanks
<GregroxLaptop> oh I'm a little bit sad about that but I guess it would make it easier to do stockalike color mode.
<GregroxLaptop> cool
<GregroxLaptop> About Sigma and Thomas' messages repsectively
<Sigma88> GregroxLaptop: why sad?
<GregroxLaptop> because I liked MM stuff
<Sigma88> the only thing that changes is that you can now generate a texture with the exact colors you want
<Thomas> GregroxLaptop: Have you seen my tests with the voxel engine I found in the KopernicusExpansion repository yesterday? :D
<Sigma88> ah ok :)
<GregroxLaptop> also it means I can't use the same configs for my stars
<GregroxLaptop> THomas: I saw the hollow cube
<Sigma88> GregroxLaptop: you can still use the cfgs I've written for the stars
<Sigma88> they work fine
<Sigma88> I'll send them to you
<Sigma88> they are finished for realistic stars
<GregroxLaptop> Coronae and flares too?
<Sigma88> sure
<GregroxLaptop> thanks
<Sigma88> just license them ARR
<Thomas> GregroxLaptop: Btw, I decided that I want to release Kopernicus (and Kopernicus Expansion) when #158 is fixed
<Qboid> [#158] title: Kopernicus spams NRE's under Linux | Steps to reproduce.... | https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/issues/158
<GregroxLaptop> oh
<Thomas> I think I found the problem, but I want them to test and report :)
<GregroxLaptop> someone should make a self-replicating space probe using Extraplanetary Launchpads and a kOS script.

<GregroxLaptop> terrible idea: totally hand-made planet pack
<GregroxLaptop> Using only what you draw on paper, and what you can write down on a piece of paper for config, build a planet.

<Sigma88> GregroxLaptop: I've basically finished the pluginization of the colors
<GregroxLaptop> cool.
<GregroxLaptop> so it reads from a spectrum texture, right?
<Sigma88> let me send you the template for the cfg colorization
<Sigma88> yes
<Sigma88> here's the spectrum generated using the rules you linked me
<GregroxLaptop> good
<Sigma88> and here's the one I made for stockalike colors
<Sigma88> that's the darker color, I have another spectrum for the lightest colors
<GregroxLaptop> Why does it get darker at G-ish area?
<Sigma88> white star will have gray details
<Sigma88> I follow more or less the Vega-relative "color label
<GregroxLaptop> I would have thought you'd want things like "yellow giants" to remain "yellow"
<GregroxLaptop> so F type should be yellow, not grey.
<Sigma88> yup
<Sigma88> that band is A
<Sigma88> white is A in vega
<GregroxLaptop> So it is.
<Sigma88> F is white-yellow
<Sigma88> wait,
<GregroxLaptop> When I get home I'd like to try a couple of different spectra out.
<GregroxLaptop> It just doesn't look like grey colors like that would work very well
<Sigma88> these are the spectra I am using
<Sigma88> top one is sunspots
<Sigma88> second one is emitcolor1
<Sigma88> third one is emitcolor0
<Sigma88> last one is the subdivision of types (M,K,G,F,A,B,O)
<Sigma88> I used three colors for B and O because I wanted 3 different shades of blue
<Sigma88> those are also indicative of the temperature thresholds for using different flares
<Sigma88> and coronas
<Sigma88> for the stockalike colors
